Have you still got your appendix?

RubySlippers · 12/11/2008 19:56

hernia?

I would get it checked again, especially if pain is getting worse

harleyd · 12/11/2008 19:57

appendix?

RubySlippers · 12/11/2008 19:58

isn't appendix left hand pain?

AnnabelCaramel · 12/11/2008 20:01

The killer test - almost literally - when I had appendicitis was you press down on the pain and it hurts, but then you release your fingers quickly, so your abdomen springs back, and that HUUUURTS!!! I would no way have been able to be on the pc though, i was rolling round on the bed clutching my stomach area.

stewart2000 · 12/11/2008 20:01

have appendix still

he pain is like a cramp at the minute however other times over last few weeks it feels like someone has stabbed u and get a few real intense pains like this

thanks 4 ideas

no appendix is right hand pain, can grumble for weeks/months, though mine just hit me and was out within hours

girlandboy · 12/11/2008 20:04

If you go to the doctor's and they think it's your appendix, brace yourself for a finger being inserted up your bottom!

Here speaks the voice of experience!

harleyd · 12/11/2008 20:04

obv right hand side pain, not right hand pain

stewart2000 · 12/11/2008 20:05

ps appendix is the right handside

OP posts:
RubySlippers · 12/11/2008 20:12

see, i said i wasn't a doctor

psychomum5 · 12/11/2008 20:16

you really should get checked out in case this is eptopic pregnancy.

they show same symptoms as you are discribing, and often eptopic don;t show up on pregnancy tests for some reason.

if it is, you really need checking asap.

hope you get sorted.

stewart2000 · 12/11/2008 20:27

yeh that had crossed my mind, they checked me for this a few months ago by giving me blood tests.

i have to say i feel pregnant sore boobs and back ache be very sad if turns out eptopic

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 12/11/2008 20:28

if thats the case then you really realy DO need checking asap then, as it can turn serious so quickly.

I am so sorry if it does turn out to be the reason

psychomum5 · 12/11/2008 20:30

just out of interest, do you have any shoulder pain.

DS1 was a twin, and his twin was eptopic (DS1 was a miracle baby tho as he survived thro it), and one of the symptoms I was told to look for (they suspected to start with and I was on a 'wait and see' for a week), was 'referred shoulder pain'.

stewart2000 · 12/11/2008 20:46

yeh i do on the left side a sharp pain.

sorry about your twin

glad you have a healthy wee boy but i have 2 girls

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 12/11/2008 20:48

I have five altogether.....he was my first boy after three girls, and he was followed by a brother (or depending on mood[winnk]).

ok, if you have shoulder pain, and all the other symptoms, you need checking. sorry

AstroPup · 12/11/2008 20:53

Shoulder pain is a classic ectopis sympton afaik - do you have out of hours doc on call? or can you make your way to A&E?
Sorry, hope its nothing serious and that you feel better soon.

stewart2000 · 12/11/2008 20:54

awh lovely u have ur hands full

well i will defo get checked tomorrow, mu hubby is on nites otherwise i would have went to a&e or out of hours

Lubyloo · 12/11/2008 20:56

Please go and get yourself checked out. The pain accompanied by shoulder pain are definitely warning signs for an ectopic. Sometimes pregnancy tests won't show up positive with an ectopic and you do have other symptoms.

Have you had any bleeding or change in bowel habits? (don't answer if asking TMI!)

Lubyloo · 12/11/2008 20:58

Just read your last post. Have you got a friend or neighbour who could come and look after the children whilst you get checked out. If you really are in agony as you said in your OP then it can't wait until the morning.

psychomum5 · 12/11/2008 21:00

if your pain gets worse please call someone out. eptoptic can get very very serious very very quickly, and can be life-threatening. I don;t want to scare, but at the same time, I don;t want you to think you have time to wait if the pain gets bad IYGWIM.

and yes, I DO have my hands full.

for this, pain is horrid at any time, and with your DH at work and you wondering what is going on, it gets awfully lonely too.

Hopeoverexperience · 12/11/2008 21:01

I think if you have shoulder pain in addition to pelvic pain you ought to seek help now re possible ectopic pregnancy - do not rely on negative home pregnancy kit. Can you ring out of hours doctor or NHS direct or visit A&E? I had a very early diagnosed ectopic due to lots of ovarian problems - shoulder pain is something to watch out for not sure why but could possibly indicate internal bleeding . Please get proper advice now. Good luck let us know how you get on.

stewart2000 · 13/11/2008 10:29
