Help!
Have been on this pill for about 6 weeks and am on my first period since starting. I have now been bleeding for 10 days (usually 5/6)and its still red (tmi!) although slow.. well its unpredictable shall we say.. How long should you bleed before seeing a doctor? Have read scary stories on here about this pill and hoping for reassurance!?

I've been on cerazette for almost 4yrs. Yes it takes a long time to settle down and yes you can bleed on and off for quite a few weeks but it does sort itself out, eventually. I don't actually get periods on a regular basis anymore, since being on this pill, which is obviously great but that doesn't mean everyone will not get periods - all depends on you. It will take time to settle down for you meanmutha...don't worry.

Thanks for that Whispywhisp.. I don't want to give up too soon. I have been too fertile in the past, getting pregnant at every single accidental encounter with ehem.. semen. So the pill is ideal for me I just don't want to bleed all the time or go loopy..!
Any more bright tales of happy cerazette use Welcome!

I had a loooooooong (and very heavy) bleed when I started Cerazette; over a month, I think it lasted. I went to the Dr who said basically "deal with it...it could last quite a while or it could stop tomorrow". I came off the pill for a day or two (by accident!) and the bleeding stopped; it didn't start again once I started taking my pills again. And it's been a few months now of no bleeding.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I am finding it particularly disturbing 'cos havent been on pill for about 15 years! Used to a natural cycle, knowing own body etc.

If you do a search on the subject of cerazette on MN you will find loads of threads about it. It's one of those pills, imo, which takes a long time to settle down for a lot of people. Even now, when I have a period, after using this pill for almost 4yrs, it can last for a good two weeks, then I don't bleed for months and then another lengthy period. Honestly, don't worry. You'll be fine. It just takes time. x
