Missed period Kidney infection and antibiotics... Are they related.....?

I'm new here.. I'm quite worried as my period is nearly a week late and about 9 days after my last period i was taken into hospital for a kidney infection which i had to take antibiotics for 2 weeks. I did a cheap test this morning which was negative, but am reluctant to waste money for an expensive test. I rang docs who couldn't give me an appt until next Wed. I've only had sex twice, and yes one could be iffy, but i don't feel preggers, and i should know better!! I do feel more tired but thats it!
I already have 3 kids with youngest only 4 months old. Any advice will be appreciated!

hmmm, a distinct possibility, anti b's can affect your pill (if you are in fact on it).

I would say, another week will tell you either way - i was TTC 7 months ago (am now 6 months pregs) and i was 2 weeks late on the first month of trying, but not pregs....just waiting for it, made it later I think....

Another thing to consider though is that illness can delay your next period. Fingers crossed for you.

I'm not on the pill, had to come off it before my 2nd baby, so only using condoms. We really didn't want a 4th but have accepted it as a possibility. The last couple of days i have been getting mild pains from my uterus which feel like preg expanding.... and i don't want to get another test because i didn't need one with my last baby, i'm soooo confused! I just want someone to say yes its so and so or unlucky kid, baby it is...

any signs of AF today?

Well.... yesterday i phoned nhs direct for advice and was told that the infection or the antibiotics shouldn't have caused it to miss and gave the usual stress talk. I'm not stressed now about it, but after i came out of hospital instead of being able to take it easy 2 of my kids had colds so were off school then during the school hols my baby and i had a cold... so i had no rest then either.
I did do another test with clear blue digital this morning which again said negative (nice waste of £10) i've got a hospital referral regarding the infection so if nothing happens before then i will say something. Its like finding out your pregnant the 1st time all over again! Not knowing what to expect!!

when u think back - is there a chance you did the 'deed' around the right time in your cycle? and a chance that perhaps you were a bit more careless than normal?
