Sorry unlikely anyone has exactly same medical condition as me. But I am in on Wednesday for op to sort out the above, and just wondering what the recovery period will be like and how much pain I am likely to be in ?

I'm 33 and I had ds 1 when I was 29. I was advised to try to have a baby before I was 30 to see if I could! I don't remember putting on weight though I do remember getting hot flushes which weren't nice. It also didn't hurt to do which I thought it would. After ds 1 I had 2 pain free years but with ds 2 -12 months- I had already felt the pain returning and my periods were getting heavier. I am only 6 weeks with no 3 but will look to try to have the endo burned off/removed after no 3 is born as I know I don't want any more children so don't mind inhibiting fertility which is the main reason this wasn't tried before children. I have a friend who also has painful endo buit she doesn;t want to go down the zoladex route for fear of the side effects. I can only say from my point of view it really helped, stopped the pain and I felt normal. I honestly think that when you reach that point where you've had enough and you're tired of being in pain you'll do anything you can to possibly get better!

Good luck

definitely agree with the list of questions, they tend to debrief you when you are still under anaesthetic so you forget or get confused! I had lap and then treatment for endometriosis, I wouldn't recommend the treatment I had which was hormonal, your options could be quite different.

I lost weight and had terrible side effects from the hormone treatment.

Thanks Pitchounette. I'm torn between getting stuck in and trying to find a way to help myself, and being tired from the op and tbh a bit gutted about the results and having a bit of a woe is me moment.

I did go on that site and it looks good. I'm tempted to buy a few books about nutrition from amazon, if my Dh hadn't unwittingly changed my password, gnarr, gnarr. Have you made changes to your lifestyle, and in particular diet, and did you find they helped ?
