I feel stupid typing this as i guess i will be told just to call the doctor. Basically even though i am a studnet nurse etc i have an issue with seeing the doctor cos i always feel like i am wasting their time.

I wondered if anyone else have had the sympton i have and whether there was any 'self' help tips.

Basically right at this very moment my chest is hurt. It is left upper side slightly above my boob (but they sag a little ). No tingling or pins and needles. Had slight dizzy moment but think i just got up too fast. Am not hugely overweight, am in 20's stil so cant be a heart problem. I do have asthma but not used inhaler for long time.

I have had chest pain for about 2 weeks on an off and it come on acutely. This is the longest it has lasted.

Any advice.. sorry i am so stupid and know i should call doctor but really dont want to and cant afford to be poorly.

awen - sorry to be personal but do you have big boobs?

nightowl · 14/03/2005 00:51

i had this for weeks and dr put it down to stress. i stopped trying to do so much and it went away. amazing really.

I do get chest pains sometimes, difficult to say if it's similar to yours, but like nightowl, doctor puts it down to stress and I think he's right. My chest pains are always in the same place and does sound a bit like yours. I suppose better to get it checked for peace of mind?

Jampots 34/36 G This is recent pain though (as in only last 2/52). Might be stress - had lots going on. Ok today, tender to touch but not 'gripping' now.

Will probably make an appointment with doctor at some point. Never seem to find time tho.

If it hurts to touch, you may have pulled the muscle around your heart. You could try to take ibuprofen for muscular pain if you don't want to bother the doctor...and see how it goes.

Hope you feel well soon xxx
