tum bug.....does he need antibiotic...?

my ds has a tum bug ...not from long(3 days)...today had diarrhea 3 times...

Do you know if they need antibiotic at this stage?

they might get weak if diarrhea is not cured in time,,,,and then they get ill all the time....

No not an antibiotic, surely that would upset his tummy even more because it will kill all the nice bacteria?

That's just my thoughts on it though, I am not a medical person. My nearly 2yo ds had a 5 day sickness and diarhoea bug last week, the doc said no antibiotics, just plenty of fluids and BRAT diet.

yes he's having plenty of fluid....

I gave him a bit of rice..today....

I'll try tomorrow...and BRAT too...
