INSOMNIA SUFFERERS Please help me! I am exhausted beyond belief

What do you do when you cannot sleep to get back to sleep. I am like the living dead. It is the pits. Cannot write more now as have to tend to toddler. Please help. I cannot cope

VDS - a baked potato?! I shall put on on the menu tomorrow
flaming toaster - thanks for that, esp breathing thing. My relaxation track that i downloaded last night instructs you on breathing and then certainlly seemed tp help once I had got the hang of it.
Mercy - was there any particular focussing/breating you found effective.
What strikes me is that i shall be working so hard to fall asleep with all these various techniques that I should be exhausted anyway!
It is so good to hear so many of you offeriung support though. It really is the most awful of feelings to feel exhasuted daily isn't it - esp when there is no one/nothing to blame for it. Thanks thank thanks

There is lots of good advice already posted but I have bought a temperdic bed and it has been the best investment ever.
I broke my cycle of being so tired going to bed 9.30pm /10pm,then waking up 2hours later wide awake for 4 hours then tired just before its time to get up by having a nap at some point before bed even if its 30 mins, either lunch time or 6pm at nightwhen ever you can and then I can stay up later until midnight and then I can sleep past 4am once I started to sleep longer I cut out the nap.

Now I have my great bed its actully hard to wake up.

Cut the caffine - one coffee for breakfast and that is it for the rest of the day

raisinbran - we sounds like infants on sleep training! Glad you found something htga tworks for you.
kaz33 - i only drink caffeine till around 3pm then i stick to soft drinks or decaff. Does it wokr fo ryou?
