Sore boob, what could it be?

My left boob feels very tender on the outside (ie near my arm). I think I can feel a lump but then I can't (IYSWIM). It's been like this for a while and I've tried to forget about it.
I've got an appt for the minor illness clinic tomorrow but I'm stressing. DP is away and I've no-one else to confide in/talk to. Any advice gratefully received.

If it is near your armpit it could be a swollen lymph node. These can be quite painful especially when touched.

Try not to worry I know its hard.I had a tenderness in the same place and I kept getting sharp pains in the area. I plucked up the courage and went to see my GP she examined me and said there were no lumps it turned out to be a strain.Its so easily done.It could be a number of simple things have you just had a baby it could be a blocked milk duct. I had a blocked milk duct when ds2 was a baby. He's 5 today so I know it's not that! I'm probably stressing over nothing. DP went away yesterday so I was mega-stressed with birthday party, wrapping presents, doing the party bit and trying to calm the boys down afterwards as DH sped off to the airport!
