Slightly swollen and painful neck after someone ran into my car yesterday?

Should I book doctors appointment? I keep thinking it is just swelling / sore (not painful, just a bit stiff really).

I was looking right (at roundabout) and someone drove into my car. We were both going slowly, and no car damage.

But this morning, it is sore and feels slightly swollen. It is the muscle that goes from my left ear down my neck to the 'v' of my collar bone (normally the muscles that stick out when you try the Wallace and Gromit face, IYKWIM?).

WWYD?
Thanks muchly. If it is just swollen, it is fine, but I don't want to make it worse by not going.

I ended up with whiplash! But that was a rear end shunt (so to speak). Didn't feel a thing until the next day. Had to have x-rays.

Probably best if you see the doc.

get checked.......sounds like whiplash and you may need a referral for physio, and also a script for painkillers.

also, if this is not your fault, you need to document any injuries for insurance purposes.

I am sorry to hear this......how are you otherwise??

I am OK, but was upset yesterday as had my 1 year old DS in the back, who started crying straight away, so I was a bit of a mess for worrying about him.
Surely though whiplash would be result of more impact? We were both queuing in traffic, at busy roundabout and she thought / assumed I was going. But I wasn't. So, neither of us were going more than 5mph and no damage to either car.
Maybe it was because I was straining right to look for oncoming traffic when she went into me.

I was stationary (sp?) at a roundabout when the other car hit me. Apparently he thought I had already driven away and didn't look!!!

Had to wear a collar for a while.

I keep thinking that if it was serious like yours, I would be in pain, rather than just stiff. I think I will see how I am over the weekend and go on Monday if it doesn't improve. Would be a huge hassle to go today, as DH has car at work.

Just stiff and achey really.

The doctor felt my neck and the muscles felt "tight" and rather immobile. Hence the trip to X-ray.

Soft collar for a week.

Felt a bit of a fraud really. But it looked impressive
