Weight and bloating

Hi,
I came off the pill in August and have had 4 cycles since then. I've put on over 10lbs in that time, but that just seems to have gone on to my stomach. It looks like I'm pregnant and it's getting me down. I have a really healthy diet and I've increased the exercise I'm doing but the weight's just piling on.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm wondering whether to go see the doctor...

were you on a progesterone only pill?

sounds like your hormones are all over the place and weight gain can be a sign of this.

as it is worrying you, why not go to your GP anyway? I would guess it is down to coming off the pill and it may be just a matter of letting the hormones get back to normal.

how old are you?

any other symptoms?

It was a combined pill and I'm 27.
I'm suffering with depression and mood swings, period pain (never had any when on the pill, so finding it hard to get used to). It's as if I've constantly got PMT actually.
Your hormones suggestion seems very sensible. Think I'll go see the GP, but looks like I need to wait it out.. and buy some new trousers
Thanks Misi

ah, I have heard from many women that coming off the combined pill does appear to give you side effects.
I thought progesterone only as that can keep you slim whereas oestrogen can help you deposit fat. so when you come off progesterone, the oestrogen bounces back and deposits fat quite quickly!! I don't know enough about combined pills except what I have been told by clients before. but if they are right, the combined pill when coming off it can disrupt your hormones even more than the single types. witht he constant PMT type symptoms etc, I think it would be best to be checked out and maybe ask for a hormone check bllod test to make sure?

good luck
