Really heavy period sorry if TMI!

My third period since baby was born, but they have been very erratic and the other two were both light.
Came on yesterday and I woke up in the night to change a tampon, only to soak through it completely within an hour and a half, I just had a shower to clean myself up and it was like a scene out of a slasher movie.
Is this 'normal' or should I be worried?

I'm afraid it can be like this as time goes on. Not very nice, is it? I have had to make mad dashes from conference platforms (great) to change everything because of a sudden deluge. Even with a mooncup, which is usually better at dealing with the flooding.

Misi on these boards gave some advice about trying agnus castus and milk thistle to reduce heavy bleeding and this seems, after about four months, to be helping me. But I guess you're still feeding so perhaps this wouldn't be the time to be taking herbal stuff?

Yeah I am. Wasn't sure if that added to it.
Is there anything that can be taken to ease the pain do you know?

Can you take Nurofen when you're feeding? That also helps to reduce the bleeding, apparently. I found Nurofen as effective as the drugs my GP gave me.

Yes you can. I'll grab some then, paracetamol doesn't seem to have touched it.
Thanks.
