Very odd Period Pain

I have sharp shooting pains through my vagina and anal area. They only last a few seconds. They build and peak like labour pains. I feel very swollen and tight. Say I'm in the kitchen and I'll feel it coming on I have time to brace myself.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of unbearable pain? Does anyone have an idea about what that could be? I have had tests for endometriosis (sorry spelling?) and nothing was found. I have had this for years!

I too suffer from this, have done for yrs.

I got investigated for endo and polyps etc but nothing.

It feels like someone is ramming a sharp needle up my jacksy.

Sometimes I have to sit down or I might just pass out.

Thank goodness someone who's what I'm talking about! I've noticed its worse the first 2 days of my period?

Does your sister know what causes it?

no, she has just put up with it for yrs, like me

I genuinely feel it is nothing to worry about, just very painful and debilitating for a day or two

Those symptoms do sound awfully familiar and I note also they are long standing. Any symptom that is cyclical and gets worse during menstruation can be due to endo.

What tests did you have done for endometriosis?. I ask this as anything short of a keyhole surgery operation called a laparoscopy will not detect endometriosis if it is there.

Would urge you to visit your GP and request a gynae referral.

thanks for your thoughts attila

I had a laparoscopy, they found nothing!
