My whole tummy from very low to very high (under breasts) is excruciatingly painful and tender. It has been like this for about 5 days - it is worse at night and I have had hardly any sleep. It has tended to subside in the day but today it did n't so I went for same day doctor's appointment. I have no urinary infection (doctors first thought), it is not period pains (don't suffer from this) and I am not constipated. She said my whole abdomen was very tender and that I didnot look well and that I should come back in 5 days if no better and they would think about doing ultrasound. As I have had in her words a "lot of abdominal surgery" (2 csections, 2 laparoscopys and appendix out) she said it may be adhesions. My m in law said I would not have this from my c sections (my kids are v young) and disagrees. I think the heart of the pain is on my right as I look down on a line or just below my belly button to the right side. It is agony if I push there. As I have no appendix it cant be that but I would put the pain level as nearly as much as immediately post c section. Any thoughts? Shall I go to hospital and wait all night or see if I am still here on Friday when next doctor appointment booked. I just feel like the GP never does anything even if it is something serious (which I hope it isn't). Thanks

been - very disappointing but will post what they said to see if any agrees or not. Had to wait for hour to be seen in dreadful chair for my back (facet joints are gone in several places in my back) and now my back is killing me too. Did n't do urine test etc. blood pressure normal. temp normal (although sweating a lot). pulse and heatbeat high he said probably cos worked up. Despite me being tender all over and it being excruciating when he touched me he thinks it is localised pain and thinks is tears in abdominal wall. Can that cause this amount of pain? Goodness knows how I got back to my car as I started feeling sick and a bit dizzy and can't now stand up. Prescribe 30 mg of di-hydrocodeine which coud not get as cant stand up to walk to chemist.I am home, freezing cold and sick. Anyone agre with this opinion? He said if it was blocked colon I would be vomiting. I feel so badly I just thnk I should be getting some care but maybe I am not bad enough? Husband cant do any more as he is looking after kids downstairs. Can this diagnosis really be this painful? Thanks

Sorry to hear that

This site is sometimes useful for other ideas, although any muscle strain IS excruciating!

How are you feeling stressed?

stressed2007 · 08/11/2008 18:44

Did you see my post 3 up? Still in excruciating pain and can't stand or sit but if it is only ripped muscles (and if it is you really would not believe what pain that can cause - it is like my tummy is on fire and like immediately post c section ) I can cope - I am just petrified I am going to kick the bucket and the thought of me not being around for my kids makes me feel awful. I know I sound like a wuss but the pain is unbelieveable.

Sorry stressed, had to go. Doesn't sound right to me. I'd imagine if you'd torn your stomach muscles that badly you'd know when you did it, wouldn't you?

stressed2007 · 09/11/2008 14:54

Well I am still in agony today, taking elephant painkileers but can stand up nearly properly. If still no better in a few days wil go back to see doctor again - don't see what else I can do.
