Flaky head

I have this flaky scabby patch on my head. It is like dandruff but bigger flakes (yes I scratch/pick at it and I know its bad). Its about the size of a 50p coin. Its not itchy at all. Any ideas what it could be? Ive tried differnt types of dandruff and medicaed shampoo but it doesnt always go away.

it could be a fungal infection. If you go to your dr they can prescribe special antifungal shampoo that you use once a week or at least they may suggest something else?
