hi had a mirena fitted 30 september im now on my 32nd day of bleeding and getting so peed off i wasnt like this before having it fitted i actually think its made me worse BIG MISTAKE having it fitted so far

i had mine installed on 15th sept, only stopped bleeding 3-4 days ago. hang on in there, i know it's shit, but it will stop.

Sorry to hear you having such a grim time of it.

When I had mine fitted, I googled it, and read lots of negative reviews of the hormonal coil - so I almost backed out. However, after a bit of discomfort in the first couple of weeks, I have had no probs on it - that was about 7 months ago.

Am only adding this, not to be smug, but so that a balanced view of it is given on this thread, as people only tend to write about something like this when they are having problems, and for some people it is a good method of contraception.

You can continue to bleed every day for quite a bit longer, maz. Hang in there. By 5th month everything should have sorted themselves out, and you will get light periods (or if you are lucky, no periods).

The mirena acts on the lining of the womb (active ingredient progesterone). The level has to be built up before it is effective. That is why you are getting bleeding every day.

5 months lol i read loads of negative things as well and nearly backed out. the bleeding is just a tiny bit now.40 days now lol.not in any pain mind going for my check next tuesday to make sure its all ok

alls ok still spotting and now its been 49 days no pain though and i used to get constant period pains and really painful boobs right thru my cycle

53 days now and getting bad period pain and backache

i'm 5 months in Maz & no improvement. i've been checked by my doc, coz i bleed after sex.
wish i'd googled it first. would never have had it fitted. i believe there should be a national data base.

7 1/2 months on getting bad pmt acne still spotting most of the time been to see the doc he's taking it out on 7 june THANK GOD just waiting for the nurse to get back off holiday
