Hi does anyone get this ..
i been diagnosed with IBS , but for some time have noticed once i have eaten my heart rate goes fast , i feel this through my throat and chest , i do eat on the run so im sure this doesnt help , i also suffer with bloating , gas and last week went to see a nutritionalist who said i have cangida in my gut/ bowel , and caused by wheat, yeast over load .
i told docs months ago about my heart thing racing they put it down to anxiety , i had a ecg which came back normal earlyer this year .had full bloods done last month all normal , could i be alergic to something im eating like Wheat , yeast ? would this cause my racing feeling ? is this part of digestion process ?
very worried ...

i think maybe you're expecting to get a fast heartbeat after eating and there fore you do, anxiety related i wouls say

stanosauruswrecks · 28/10/2008 09:09

All the symptoms you are describing could well be caused by your eating on the run. Try eating your food slowly at the table, and giving it ten minutes to settle before rushing around. The nerve that stimulates the stomach into working is the same one that stimulates the heart, so it could well be that the combination of eating whilst on the go is causing both your gastric and cardiac symptoms, rather than Candida which seems to be a blanket terms used to cover any symptom that occurs from the neck down!

everyone gets a faster heartbeat when eating.

im trying gluten free bread to to see if that helps .

Hi iwal. Sorry to hear you are still suffering with the IBS symptoms but glad to hear the palpitations seem to be helped by not eating on the run.

Iworryalot · 28/10/2008 13:55

Hi this happens to me too. I find it happens to me after eating high gi foods (white bread, rice, cakes etc).

I thought this is called something like hypoglycaemia (sp!)?

Iworryalot · 28/10/2008 15:06

hi polly , not heard of this , will look it up .pasta to makes me like this ,so .confused of what i may have , also my symptoms could be candida in the gut , that would make sense as i am bloated, wind etc .so may try gluten free diet to see if i dont blot , as i said iv been given digestive enzymes and probotic tablets to take along with a candida tablet from the nutritionist ,i saw last week , havent taken them yet ...my doctor has said may time that it is all stress and anxiety related ,but i have felt quite relaxed and still get these flutters . What are your symptoms Polly ?
Winetime i lurk to at health threads and havent seen cosit either.

I think my symptoms were racing heart, palpitations, flushing - I narrowed it down to eating carbs as it seemed to happen after eating white bread, rice, pasta, cakes etc etc. I also went to the doctors and he thought it was anxiety too initially. He agreed it might be hypoglycemia, but had no suggestions other than avoiding those foods!

Like you I had the full range of tests which were negative.

Incidentally I also have ibs, and thought that I might have a candida.

I also wondered whether this might be hormonal in origin - I haven't had the symptoms for a few months while I was pregnant and now while ds2 is 6 months old. I am waiting to see whether the symptoms come back once my periods do.

(I also got hot flushes/adrenalin rushes - again undiagnosed).

Iworryalot · 28/10/2008 21:31

wow sounds so similar ... well today no racing heart ( fingers crossed ) im due t see my specialist in a week or so so will rais these things with him ..
athough i dont really want to have the camera thing down my tummy .... i do suffer with anx and he has diagnosed IBS had a sgmoydoscopy (sorry cant spell ) and biopsys came back normal . i do think my digestion is weak though, and need to find out what i can do ... bit frightened to take these pills for candida or probotic as not given by specialist, although did get them from nutriitionalist ... last week .. and digestive enzymes .. i to get flushes mostly around my period , had bloods ndone last month for hormones , thyroid and iron all ok except iron little low so now taking from health food sho slow iron , rather than prescribed dose as always upsets my tummy more .

how old are you? I wondered whether this may be pre-menopause symptoms which can happen from mid-30s I think.

(all my tests were normal though).

Iworryalot · 29/10/2008 22:09

well my hormone came back normal so i done think its that , im 36
had no funny beats today , but lots of indegestion wind top and bottom ..as i said am due to see my gasto man soon so will write list of things i think could be ?
Also thought maybe not enough stomach acid ? or to much ,or
Acid reflux ?
