Dry Hair

An odd one I know. I have coloured blonde hair which I am trying to grow. But the front ends are so dry and breaking all over the place. I want to keep growing it and keep covering it in conditioner which I live on the maximum. But then i give in and straighten it and it looks dry and endy. HELP PLEASE

keep getting a good trim every few weeks and get a deep conditioning treatment (do you have a local hairdressing colledge?, these often offer the best trreatments and is safe..i used to be a hairdresing student!)
maybe you might need to look at your diet too? if your hairs breaking off you could be lacking in something??hth

Have you tried leaving the conditioner on over night and then rinsing it really well in the morning?

I go to a really good hair dresser every 4 weeks for a trim and she deep conditions it. I might try the overnight thing at the weekend.

i agree with the hot oil- the shower works one. My hair is dry at the moment, I think it is the cold that affects it. I've been tying mine up, which has kept it a bit better, but the hot oil once a week is really good for it.

See I tried that, but you only keep it in for 3 minutes or something, and I didnt notice the difference. I might try it again. I also tried the Aussie 3 minut wonder. Not sure I think my hair has had it.

Try Dove hair mask...it is fabulous. I have dry hair and this makes it so soft. Also, are you using a steam straightener??? They are the best as they protect your hair from the hot irons.

I also have coloured blonde hair, which I'm trying to grow and I straighten. If you have any ethnic shops near you, try hair oil from one of them. I use indian hair oil, leaving it in overnight once a fortnight and it does wonders, making it really silky and smooth.

i read a review on dove shampoo and conditioner and they said it was fab, but made no difference to mine!

My hair is coloured, curly and very dry. Try putting a little conditioner on the ends after you've towel dried and leaving it in. Mines so frizzy I do this everyday. I don't use a special leave-in conditioner as I find they just aren't enough. You do have to wash it every couple of days though as it builds up.

How often are you washing it? Mine's dry-ish and I only wash it every 6 to 7 days . Think the drying knackers it as well. Can you let it dry naturally? I know I can't but...

I cant let it dry naturally it goes all wavy and odd loooking. I tried the aussie minute wonder last night and left that on for a good half an hour I think it helped a bit. I use GHD straightners with their oil and I have to wash my hair every other day.

Your hair is affected by what goes in, not "on". I would suggest you start eating food high in vitamin B and E. Maybe get a hair analysis done too.

i used to use aveda sap moss conditioner, its a bit pricey and i think only for sale in salons but it worked miracles for me and you only need a tiny amount. now im using the aussie products and they work better for me than anything else ive found in the shops. my hair is coloured blonde, thick and wavy but when i straighten it i use VO5 straight hair, (just a tiny bit or it makes it greasy) before straighteneng then a tiny bit of glossing wax. that gives it the appearance and the feel of being in really good condition when its actually not! unfortunatly the affect only lasts around 2 days but its ok for a night out. how often do you use the straighteners? i try not to use them now unless im going to the pub (about once a month). i cant let my hair dry naturally either but i just rough dry it with the VO5 i just mentioned and it still looks ok.
