I felt this hot feeling right behind my knee at random times years ago. I never contributed it to my birth control pills I was taking while nursing but I was taking.
ERRIN QUOTED FROM WEBMD "This medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It is often referred to as the "mini-pill" because it does not contain any estrogen. Norethindrone (a form of progestin)
"This medication may rarely cause serious (sometimes fatal) problems from blood clots (such as deep vein thrombosis, heart attack, pulmonary embolism, stroke). Get medical help right away if any of these side effects occur: chest/jaw/left arm pain, confusion, sudden dizziness/fainting, pain/swelling/warmth in the groin/calf, trouble speaking, sudden shortness of breath/rapid breathing, unusual headaches (including headaches with vision changes/lack of coordination, worsening of migraines, sudden/very severe headaches), unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, vision problems/changes (such as double vision, partial/complete blindness)."
Reading about it now it makes sense that it could have been a blood clot trying to form and possibly DVT. I remember telling a friend I get this weird sensation in the back of my leg but never thought about it. I stopped taking birth control in summer 2019 because of all of the actual effects they can do to the body. I believe I got a severe form of mastitis (it has cleared since and I had ultrasounds and mammogram done to check for breast cancer) from it and I wasn't even nursing for over a year at that point.
There are a lot of breast cancer survivors that believe their cancer was caused by hormonal birth control and I hope I can spread awareness.
