Neck Lump.

Saw my Dad yesterday, hes got a lump, bigger than a pea, not round, not painful and he can move it, close to his Adams Apple. Am i right in thinking thats the thyroid?

Told him to go to the GP, but because they think im a hypochondric they ignore me. I was under the impression that all neck lumps (especially in the over 40) were to be examined ASAP?!

I thought lympth node, i also get them, but round and pea shaped in the back of my neck.

He had shingles last month and an operation 2 weeks before that, so i imagine his immune system isnt working as well as it should. Now i need to convince him to see a doctor.
