I have been suffereing increased IBS symptoms for the past coulpe of months, a sore throat for about 4 weeks and an achey, hit by a bus sort of feeling for the past few weeks. i went to the dr last week and have been signed off work for a week, and some bloods have been taken. I think i am just run down.
might acupuncture help pick me up a bit? I've only had it a couple of times before, while i was pg a couple of years ago.

Don't know specifically about IBS but accupuncture can help with lots of things - really good for migraines, nightmares, colds, car sickness and morning sickness, high blood pressure ... Some things react faster than others. Being very run down might take several treatments, but you should feel a bit better after the first one. There are different types of accupuncture schools. I think tcm is more effective than 5 elements. Try it - no side effects and nothing to lose (apart from about £35 a session!)

Glad it helped. Maybe I live in a cheaper part of the country (or maybe it's gone up in the 9 months since I last went. Oh dear!)

I am on my fourth week of having acupunture for painful perionds, and help with fertility. Seems to be beneficial for many things. I have heard it helps with the intestinal system. At least it will bring balance to your body. Another thought is to do food allergie testing:dairy, wheat!

Hi - I am at Uni. studying to be an acupuncturist... so though not unbiased Iwe are encouraged to look into what acu can help and what it can't.

It can be helpful for all sorts of conditions, but not all,

It is more effective the earlier you start it, with chronic conditions, (though hopefully yours isnt chronic - ie longterm!)

hope it helps for you.

But known to be esp good for pain/migranes and research into infertility is looking v positive.
