Chronic Epstein Barr Symptoms

A friend has been suffering from extreme dizziness and nausea for over a year which is being managed with drugs. She has had every available test and ear nose throat specialist referrals etc. All have come back clear except that she has tested positive for Epstein Barr virus. If you have symptoms for more than a year the doctors call it 'chronic fatigue syndrome' although she has none of the flu like and fatigue symptoms other than dizziness and nausea. (This is so bad that many days she simply cannot function and is expressing a desire to die rather than carry on feeling so shite for the rest of her days. I imagine this is like feeling sea sick, really horrible)

I know there is nothing that can be done to hurry this along but wondered if any medical or wise mumsnetters have or are dealing with chronic fatigue syndrome and have any words of wisdom as to what can be considered to give the immune system a real kick start. Aside from the usual diet/exercise/think positive advice are there any supplements that are worth considering? Thanks!

I always suggest people with CFS cut as many artificials out of their diet as much as possible

For me sweetners are a real trigger along with alcohol
