SEDATION went wrong at DENTISTS...advice needed please

My mum had to be sedated for some dental work-not beause of fear but she has a bad balance problem and the drill makes it worse.
She was injected with the sedation but it didn't work. They kept checking her but-nothing.So they gave her another dose. This time it worked and they did the fillings needed.
When she came round she said she didn't feel right (she has been sedated twice before for dentistry work the last time only 10 days previous) and told the nurse and was told it had gone wrong. She was drifting in and out of awareness untill my dh came in to see her.
The nurse explained to dh that the first injection had been given wrong and had gone into her system not her vein so they had given her another dose and that she would be out of it for a long time as she had a double dose.
Since then she has felt really dizzy and her head is spinning all the time and is having real problems just walking around.
She went to her GP who gave her tablets used to treat menieres which haven't helped at all.
Should the sedation be out of her system yet?
Have you got any ideas what the problem is?
I'm really worried about her.

Why not ring them now if you're worried. They could put your mind at rest anyway. I rang them when one of my ds's drank some vitamin liquid and they were really good, they checked with the poisons unit about safe doses for me. They will be able to check whether your mum's reaction is normal I should think.

Just phoned her and she wants to call them in the morning as she feels rough.
Think i will let her call as she knows all the details.
Was just hoping there would be some medical type lurking tonight.
