About 5 years ago I got a tiny cyst on my outer vaginal lip - went to GP who froze the spot and cut it out there and then . Probably size of half a pea. Since then I get recurrent spot/lump/something type thing in the same spot. It can get quite itchy although isn't always. I probably get them 4 times a year.

Should I go back to my doctor? Or is it just some scar tissue getting inflamed that they wouldn't be able to do anything about?

Thank you for any advice you could give

If itchy, is there any chance that it might be a reaction to something - I've had something similar from an adverse reaction... and it went away once I stopped having the thing I was intollerant to...

Right. Grasped the nettle with both hands so to speak (well, actually DH did - I was too much of a wimp!) and have had similar results to those reported by CC with her DS1's cyst. So must be a blocked sebaceous thingummy. It was pretty grim at the time (happy happy joy joy on a Saturday night with X-factor on in the background) but it feels Much Better Now.

Huge thanks to you all.

Oh god.
Dairylea anyone?

ZakuroFujiwara · 04/10/2008 20:47

I know. Sorry. But I felt like I needed to provide "closure" after you were all so helpful.

Poor DH.

Sure.
I'm glad you feel better.
Your DH was probably glad to help.

I will not click on that link. I think I've seen it.

Might be a Bartholin's Cyst.

Nothing to worry about but probably a good idea to get it checked out.

Cherry, my ds has cysts on both eyelids. They have been there for about 5 months now. My gp reffered him to the opthomologist who said they needed to be cut out from the inside of the eye! We are waiting for an apt. She also said that it was because of his skin type, and would prob re-occure. Has your ds's?

Glad your feeling a bit better Zakuro, you must have been brave!

CherryChapstick · 04/10/2008 22:42

It has refilled slightly but he is a fiddler. If there is anything to pick, poke, rub, he will! I think he has rubbed more muck into it.
Your poor DS.
