Painful sex after having a baby. (tmi)

I have a dd who is 3 months and I had sex for the first time since her birth last week and it wasnt as painful as i thought it would be, more uncomfortable than anything but this eased after a few times but in certain positions when its its deeper than others its really painful and I have to stop. Is this normal or should I go and get it checked out? I find things like that really enbarressing so would rather find out on here its nothing than feel humiliated at the doctors.
When I had ds over a year ago I had a third degree tear so Im wondering if the "repair work" I had done after that could have something to do with it. It just makes sex rather boring as we have to stick to the missionary position but its not the kind of pain that you can carry on going through and bite your teeth its like a stabbing. Sorry I know people probs dont wanna know about my sex life but i just wanted peoples opinions as Im hoping its nothing serious.

Thanks.

I think the 'experts' say 6months to 'fully' recover. Not too sure so dont quote me.

Have a friend who can only have sex with her on top due to the scar tissue from birth. I think she experiences similar pain in the missionary position. It has been 4 years since her last birth though.

It is still very early days for you.

this happened to me, went to gp, was referred to the hospital, and it turned out I had some kind of infection from what was described as 'bits of gunk' being left inside me after the birth. Took mega antibiotics, they gave me a mega dose of thrush, once that was cleared up all was fine. worth going to the gp and asking to be referred to gynae
