Erm... how many miles is that. About 3? 23/4 mins perhaps.

I don't do fast, but am very respectable.

cuddlesrus · 26/09/2008 19:34

me, it would take about 3 days

moondog · 26/09/2008 19:34

I don't do miles.
Am modern miss me.

pamelat · 26/09/2008 19:34

25 mins would be good

OrmIrian · 26/09/2008 19:35

Sadly I am old. I can understand metric but only if you talk v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y...

SpacePuppy · 26/09/2008 19:35

beginner to intermediate about 25-27 min.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 26/09/2008 19:38

Good for me (45 year old) is 30 minutes. I have done it in less but was a good bit younger. My friend can do it in just over 16 but she is proper athlete.

moondog · 26/09/2008 19:38

Oh
I'm not running for speed but can do comfy 31 mins.

OP posts:
moondog · 26/09/2008 19:38

3.1 miles Orm.

OrmIrian · 26/09/2008 19:42

Thankyou saggar.

By the time I get back to running I'll be so out of condition it'll take me an hour.

peachsmuggler · 26/09/2008 19:55

31 mins is fine moondog! Well done!!! Why are you worrying about veing "respectable"??

DoubleBluff · 26/09/2008 20:00

30 mins is fine, is a lot better than some.
i did a few 10ks took me an hour and it was hard work.

moondog · 26/09/2008 20:22

Oh I'm not reaaly worried!
Just wondered what was not pitiful if you like.

OP posts:
ambercat · 26/09/2008 20:24

I do it in about 30 min, 27 is my best. Trying to beat 23 min, exh time, tis my mission!

peachsmuggler · 26/09/2008 20:24

If it's any consolation I will be running a timed 5k tomorrow morning for the first time since having DD, (in fact since becoming pg) and I would be THRILLED if I did it in 31 mins!

moondog · 26/09/2008 20:26

Oh really!
I don't run competitively at all and never will (it's not my thing) but interesting to know what other are up to.

Good luck

SpacePuppy - no WAY is 5k in 25 mins beginner!!!!! Noooooo way!

peachsmuggler · 26/09/2008 20:28

Will also be dragging round 20 pounds of extra fat that has appeared since last 5k, which will surely slow me down somewhat. Sigh...

mckenzie · 26/09/2008 20:29

that's not the Trent Park Handicap is it by any small chance Peachsmuggler?

peachsmuggler · 26/09/2008 20:35

No, mckenzie it's not even a race, just a running club, but we have to time ourselves (feels face turning crimson with shame at thought of time)

sfxmum · 26/09/2008 20:49

I started run/walk 40mins these days on a good day just under 30mins

but have never raced only do leisure and by myself should probably work on speed

pamelat · 26/09/2008 20:51

25 mins is very good, I meant.

30 is also good.

Wallace · 26/09/2008 21:25

around 30 mins is respectable.

My first 5k a year and a bit ago was 32 mins.

Now my time is 26 mins! Fastest woman in my running club is 22 mins.

peachsmuggler · 27/09/2008 16:39

ha ha. It took 35 mins. Pitiful!!! Was trying to imagine what it was like running before with 20 pounds less fat. Like running with 20 pounds of fat in a ruck sack...
