Bleeding after smear test?

I went for a routine smear test this morning, on day 12 of my cycle, have just noticed quite a lot of pink blood.

This has never happened before, but is it normal?

When I had my last test (not routine, so was worried to start with )the nurse warned me I was bleeding a bit after she'd done it. She asssured me it was not at all unusual, although of course I was paranoid as it had never happened to me before either. Smear result was normal. So please, don't worry (and well done for keeping up the routine tests!)

i bleed everytime, have had 7 years of inconclusive results!
finaly went to see a gyni, she took one, all ok then i went in to hospital and she sealed off some veins. it hasnt happened since.

Thanks for the replies, it seems to have eased off now, but it was a bit of a shock.

Don't mean to scare anyone who is worrying about having their smear though!
