Do you smoke too much, want to cut down, but now actually quit ???? (sorry this is not a "quitting" thread)..

Come and join me please. I don't want to quit, I just want to cut down (dramatically) , so please don't come and tell me "well just quit" - thank you

I smoke roll-ups now, and as I roll them as I want one my smoking has got totally ott. Unlike a packet - where you can see how many you've got/had I only have the evidence in the ash tray at the end of the day - and it's not good (I think I must be smoking close to 40 some days if not more )

Last night I sat down before I went to bed and pre-rolled 20 and put them in my cigarette tin. I've figured that 1 per hour during the day (if the DS's will let me escape long enough) and then I@ve got a few extra for after they've gone to bed).

It's been tough going so far, the amount of times I've reached over to roll one........then realised I have them ready rolled and that actually it hadn't been long since my last one is quite shocking. However the one per hour is working so far (I'm currently trying to kill time to leave my one for this hour 11-12 as late as possible).

So - do any other smokers (who don't want to quit -but just cut down like to join me?

not been a good afternoon - not sure how many i've had (I MUST pre-roll some tonight for tomorrow)) - think i've had about 4/5.......

hi all,im back now ,the baby was good as gold but im afraid i wasnt ,i have had 9 today !!! i knew it would be difficult . will probably have one after dinner as well,so that will,be ten today !

DJM you have done brilliantly. I wish could say the same today but i cant.But even though i know i will have one after dinner making it ten today ,it is far less than what i would normally smoke ,so im not too concerned .I will try harder tomorrow.

I've lost count how many i've had - was feeling stressed earlier this afternoon, then had to make a phone call to someone I don't know very well (I'm a phone phobic unless it's someone I know very well), then they couldn't help me anyhow, and then I've been stressed about DS3's Christening and organist (or should I say lack of)

Tomorrow however, is a new day - and I will do better

6 by 7pm is good going though... mainly thanks to this stinking cold and i think the start of a chest infection!!!

i have told myself i cant have any more ,but i think i will be teptd to at least one more tonight before go to bed ! i will try not to but after yesterdays good start,i have gone to pot today.I will also try harder tomorrow.

well i had twelve yesterday so i would ahve had 8 left in this pack. i have two left now. gonna one later before bed and save one for the morning.

well done djm .That is what i managed yesterday.Looks like you have done the best so far.I think doing it this way and telling each other that we will be having another one,is much beter than saying we cant have one,and its more truthful.

im having my last one then bed im knackered today. i still have one left for the morning.

i got dh to work out how much i spent a week on cigs based on me smoking 25 a day which is probably a bit less than i actually smoked if i am honest. it wasnt good! £50 a week! thats £200 per month! its no wonder im always skint.

i have worked out that by switching to a cheaper brand and cutting down a lot i can get that down to a tenner a week saving £40 a week which is £160 a month. thats ten pairs of the pink glittery tap shoes i keep promising dd1 but cant afford.

dd WILL have her glittery shoes.

why dont you change over and make your own seashells,for years i bought ready made ,then my dd urged me to change over.i am so glad i did now,although i have to admit if i didnt have a machine i couldnt roll them by hand.i have tobacco fro spainand was only about £2.50 per 50 gr and that will last a whole week !!! And even without cheap baccy ,its still about only a fifth of what you are paying.

and i have to say that when a friend comes round on sat to go out with dh,he is always smoking a ready made ,and the difference in the smell is very noticeable ,even to me.I will never go back to buying packets again ,i dont know why I didnt do it a long time ago.

My total today 10 target was 7

My target tomorrow 7 ?

well i have had my one for this morning. and no more untill after the school run. morning is going good every one is ready with 20 mins to spare so ill manage this morning.

i have tried making my own mummylin but i just dont like them. you do you know that baccy from spain is not legal. you know id never buy tax free cigs

yes it is legal .you are allowed to buy so much as your duty free allowance.When i was there in april i stocked up big time !!!! i havnt started the day well as someone had left my feezer door open and now the whole thing is full of ice,so am having to bang it all off and clean it out ,luckily the stuff is still all frozen but its not supposed to have any ice at all,so already have had 3 !!!! i have made up my allowance for the day so have to try very hard for the rest of the day if im to reach my target,

i have decided to give money to relatives going over to spain etc to bring me some back. there is pretty much always some one going somewhere. though im not too sure that is entirely legal

i have had my after school run one so am upto two today. im going to have another at 11am

dont worry seashells,you are now entitled to buy 3200cigs per person and its all perfectly legal,not sure about tobbacco allowance though!
