Feeling fluey but without a cold

I'm just wondering whether this is something going around? - It started with a headache. Now my ears/head feel 'full' but I don't have a cold. Is this just one of the many viruses going around?

Last year I had the worst flu imaginable.
I had a very high temperature, was weak, feverish, could not move from my bed for 10 days,& generally felt like death warmed up!
However, other than a chest infection I did not have a cold at all!
It was definately the flu (I have never felt so ill!) But no sign of a cold!
I always assumed the 2 go together, but I have since learnt that this is not always the case!
