Hi. When DD started school last year i had to fill out a form about family history. For some reason as DD is half chinese she has been referred for this appointment but I havent got a clue why and what it's for?

Its because she has an immeadiate relative who is from a country with high levels of TB within the general population. Because teenagers are no longer routinely vaccinated, vaccines are offered to groups of babies and children who are deemed to be at higher risk of coming in to contact with TB.

oh ok thanks, so should I be expecting a vaccine then or just a check up, it's at the hospital with a liaisin nurse.

Its likely they will offer the vaccine when you go.
