New Mummy here, One of my DD (6Months) has chicken pox, his spots come out properly today and he had a few sat and sun. Could my DD catch it as we spent the last 2 wednesdays together (though the last wed was just a shopping trip so no pysical contact just car sharing and toy sharing)?

DD (was 4 months) caught chickenpox from her dad!! she developed spots 2 weeks after he did and they had no contact with each other during those 2 weeks.

I would say chances are high but DD might be lucky and not catch it. DH's sister had chickenpox at 17 yrs and he didn't catch it from her even though they still lived with their parents.

Good luck with DD whose got chickenpox. its not nice and i felt very isolated for a good few weeks. Although i used to take DD out to the shops with the raincover on (even though it was July), so that no one could touch her.

Hope that helps. also there are a number of threads about chickenpox & coping with it, if you do a search on the health topic.

the only way to catch chicken pox is by direct contact wiht an infected person. Incubation period is 2-3 days before the spots come out and for about 5 days after the first spots appear.

both of mine had it over christmas and new year so well versed in this at mo.

They didn'y have direct contact on the wednesday just gone, but my DD was playing with his toys and sucking on them... If he came out prop in spots today then by sounds of it he may not have been infections on wednesday??? Am i right???

Personally I'd hope he caught it as the younger they are the milder it is (although does not necessarily infer immunity there is a strong chance they will)

I'd have a CP party if I were you

Its one of those things i'm afraid, and its a waiting game.

I do know how you feel though about your holiday because we had to cancel our holiday to Africa. DH got CP 2 days before we were due to fly out!!!

good luck
