here it is if anyone is interested!

Ah, co-proxamol is definately not codeine and paracetamol, according to the article. This contains dextropropoxyphene instead of codeine, and is only available on prescription.

You are quite right. I have had 5 months off and it's been about 2 years since I dished these out. I knew they were a drug that I owned. These have questionable effectiveness anyway. Thanks for that! Think I am definately going to have to retrain before I go back.

Well, it sounds like they're both paracetamol + an opiate, and both fairly serious painkillers, so confusing them isn't that suprising.

In the US, you can't get codeine except on prescription. In Canada you can get Tylenol 3s, which is codeine + paracetamol + caffeine (to make them less fun, I think?), but only behind the counter, or whatever the proper word is for when you have to ask for them and get peered at by a pharmacist before you can have them.

I'm glad they're not the same, I was thinking I'd have to check how many I have in the house and maybe buy more before they were withdrawn, which would feel quite ... wrong. I already feel badly about my cache of (prescribed) diclofenac (aka voltrol), and that's more than enough drug-guilt for me.

I'm glad you said that I've had my wisdom tooth taken out today under local anisthetic and just paracetamol has not helped at all so I took neurofen ten minutes later I'm really struggling to swallow anyone else who has ideas of what I can do

I think this is the oldest zombie thread I've ever seen cone back to life.

It won't help now because you've just taken paracetomol but if you can get to a 24hr pharmacy you can buy cocodomol over the counter which contains codeine (a stronger painkiller) and paracetomol. As far as I remember you can't buy codeine alone without a prescription.

Hope you feel better soon.

Did you manage to swallow the nurofen tablets? You could take a larger dose of children's liquid nurofen if that's easier to get down.

How the actual fuck do you manage to resurrect a thread from 10 years ago?!
