can't work out whats bitten me. cats are flea free and besides dh is the one who gets bitten by fleas first - he is fine.
Went out blackberry picking yesterday so could be from that? was fully clothed though as it was cold.
Bites are concentrated round backs of knees, groin area (soooo itchy!) and where my bra goes, particularly round straps. Even boobs are bitten nothing on arms though some of my scrateches from thorns are itching.
What with that and psoriasis all over my trunk and legs the itching is driving me NUTS.

sympathy or thoughts please

Hi ohyoubadbadkitten
Poor thing, I can sympathise with you. Don't know if this is similar but I had nasty insect bite episode too a few weeks ago. I was bitten on ankle initially which was really nasty and swollen. Then other red 'bites' started to appear on my leg, really itchy and some of them were a bit weepy (looked just like picture in link). Turned out that the initial bite had got infected and the other bites were actually impetigo as a result of the infection. Needed an combined anti-biotic and steroid cream to get rid of them (cleared up within a week thankfully!).

i had bites like this last week, in the groin and back of the knee......only got me and not dp at all. Ex-mil had a look at the ones on the back of my knee and said it was probably harvest mite, as she's suffered bites from them before.......i found they itching was worse at night but anti-histamine cream has kept that under control.

Poor you! I am one of those people who always gets eaten alive too. Along with some antihistamine cream, try a Piriton -- I found that helps too.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/08/2008 22:24

I think I am going to resort to piriton tonight - hate it as the drowsiness lasts into the next day but i might actually go bananas, I'm covered in gazillions of psoriasis spots - didnt take long for that to react

Still, on the upside if dh gets bored then playing dot-to-dot should keep him occupied for a good while

Well well! MN to the rescue again! Thanks all (although realise I'm a bit late joining the thread). Have been bitten to pieces the last couple of weeks and this morning woken up with hives moving around my face. Apart from looking gorgeous, was a bit worried that I had some kind of liver problem so all in all am relieved to read similar experiences! We live in the middle of the cornfields too so harvest mites sound very possible. Is piriton alright with bf-ing? Hope all you itchy gals soon better! x

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/09/2008 10:56

I don't know about piriton and bfing but I hope you get some relief from them. It sounds pretty drastic!

You can still see where mine were - but as I'm becoming really covered in psoriasis now they don't make any difference just a few more spots to add to the mix!
