he has to go into hospital overnight at the end of the week. its his big one year check, inc angiogram. he gets very nervous about the angio's, have told him not to worry. he is still a tad nervous.

oh poor thing, will be thinking of him.

misdee · 25/08/2008 09:08

his tacro levels are still too high as well. which is what caused his weird episode the other week.

I bet you are both nervous, I am hopeful that all will be fine, it is a big milestone and am sure you will be relieved once it is behind you.

Of course he will be worried. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Could he ask them to use a radial approach to do the angio? - It seems less invasive that way for some people, plus he doesn't have to do the lying around afterwards!
Best of luck for it all, have you got something nice planned to mark the day?

misdee · 25/08/2008 11:38

nop idea what a radial approuch is tbh.

we makred his one year anniversary last weekend.

angio etc is one day after our 9yr wedding anniversary

Sorry for the delay - have been out and about Normally when doing an angio, they will go through the femoral artery in the groin. An alternative is to go through the radial artery in the wrist.

monkeyme · 25/08/2008 22:18

The most common way of doing an angio is to go through the femoral artery in the groin, however it's possible to go through the radial artery in the wrist, patients tend to be up and about straight after, whereas with the femoral puncture site they have to lie still for about an hour after.

Good luck - hope all goes well.
