I've been hiccuping since 7pm approx... any helpful suggestions to stop it?

I know it sounds silly, but I'm feeling exhausted now

I cannot face a night of this... how can i sleep?

I once had the bad hiccups at work and a wise old -sister- Charge Nurse I worked with advised me to swallow a spoonful of granulated sugar.I looked at her a bit but tried it and it worked....Dunno if it was coincidental or not.

Right... am off to try that.....

Crosses fingers and hopes it works foe The Moon.(It could quite easily have been the sheer force of my old bosses personality that forced the sugar to cure my hiccups-she was quite formidable )

Hope it works!!

I used to get hiccups that lasted for hours, as a teen. I looked up cures once, and apparently praying to St Jude is the thing to do - worked for a man who'd hiccuped for days and weeks.

Naturally, the first time I tried it, it worked for me too
