Another Mooncup convert

I've been reading threads on MN about mooncups from behind my hands for quite some time now. I generally thought they were a bit bleurgh but couldn't help being fascinated.

I bought one and used it for the first time yesterday. They are bloody brilliant aren't they! Quickly got used to putting it in, have got the end trimmed so it's comfy, I just want to rave about what a great idea they are. I would admit that you become far more aquainted with your body than when you only use tampons. And the toilet looks like a scene of carnage after I've emptied the mooncup.

But I want to recommend them to everyone - except I'll probably never speak about them in rl to anyone but dh.

They can be a bit messy, granted. But I still like mine! (nearly 2 yr veteran here)

it's like a CSI investigation: you don't realise the trajectory of it as a layman (woman). It takes an expert or a visitor to notice the stray spatters.

I do like the idea of them, I do I do. It's just the mess. Oh the mess. And since I've had the mirena and am all over the show with my, ahem, show, I couldn't face scrabbling around with one every day just in case.

I just don't have the manual dexterity to make the mooncup work for me. Fat Handed Twat anyone?

Am not sure, but are you suggesting that they get easier (too easy?) to take out with experience? As on day two only, I'm still at the stage of being a bit embarrassed by the range of noises on removal, and am having to bear down like in childbirth just to get a fingertip on the thing.

Am thinking of a doing a 'free but for postage' on my extremely large collection of tampons. Perhaps I should give it a month or two first?

Am also wondering if I'm going to need to convert our separate toilet and bathroom into one as I keep wandering between the two with my knickers around my ankles so I can wash Mooncup before putting it back in again. Thank goodness for disabled toilet at work with sink right next to toilet (and not a single person with disabilities in the entire 5 storey building )

I bought one yesterday, first day of using it today. Think it is great so far. Much easier to insert than expected. at the carnage and the noises upon removal. I am just wondering how I am going to do that squat at work in a tiny cubicle that you virtually have to reverse into anyway!
