Bleeding behind bottom

When I was just changing my 9 month old son, I noticed a bit of red blood on the wipe. It isn't coming from his anus, but about half a centimetre in the crease behind his anus (the crease that separates the two bottom cheeks). It looks like it has split ever so slightly and a little sore. That makes it sound bad, it isn't, it is only visible when you really look. I will switch to cotton wool and water, but I wondered if anyone had any experience of this? I have put Sudocreme on it.
Thanks

Also I would suggest drying it with a small clean flannel (or similar) after using the cotton wool and water. Let it air at nappy changes. If it starts to look worse within a day or so (or doesn't get better) then get it checked out.

Also if you have not used sudocrem before then keep an eye that it doesn't make it more sore.

You're doing the right thing. It will get better.

Dd used to get this. It can be caused by sweating and chafing, or by not drying that area properly after a bath.

Sudocreme will sort it out - if it doesn't help within two or three days, see the GP.

Thank you so much for your very quick replies and suggestions.
