Thrush - how do I get rid of it?

Hi, I'm just a new member and have been reading lots of stories over past couple of days.

However one of my wee problems is thrush and I don't see it in the notice board so would appreciate any help on getting rid of it. I'm currently on the pill. Over past few months I've been changing pills (on doctors advice) to see if that would work but no luck. The doctor is now suggesting I come of the pill altogether as this might help.

What do you think?

Try cutting down on bread and other products containing yeast. Too much yeast in the diet can be a factor, as can high sugar consumption.

Re diet, yes cut down on sugary foods and drinks (including fruit juices), caffeine and alcohol. That's how I got rid of it eventually.

I think drinking those probiotic drinks can only serve to help as well. Make sure you have time to let air get to the area. As the others have said, cotton knickers, no tights, loose clothing. Would of thought panty liners would make things warmer down there = more yeast. Try to cut down on fizzy drinks and bread for a while. Also (i've posted this before) a tampon dipped in cool (natural with bacteria)yoghurt and inserted is lovely, cool and relieving.
