For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

NNNNggggghhhhhh.

It hurts. Everything.

Should be renamed 'Possibly Beautiful but more likely really muddy days'

Everyone had to be to be towed off site by tractor. We went back to a friends truck at the end of the music last nigt and my friend threw up on the floor then passed out so I had to stay with her on the floor of their truck. Am very tried, cold and stiff.

Suspect that might not be solely due to sleeping on cold floor.

scampi
choc eclair
cava
lemon sorbet
pizza.

Needed serious calorie replacement. Had half a bowl of pasta yesterday and danced like a nutter in really sticky deep mud. SO no F&V but good on the exercise front.

Hung around with Zion Train backstage for about 4 hours looking WAY too cool for school..... In my mind. The shame hasn't kicked in yet so I don't think I disgraced myself too much.

Shambala in 3 days. Ouch.

filthymindedvixen · 18/08/2008 18:19

wow TooT - how gorgeous are they?

Fab costumes.....

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 18:21

fmv

Oh dear OB.

filthymindedvixen · 18/08/2008 18:21

ah yes. Well. I knew it would be muddy....

But did you have a good time, OB or does it all hurt too much to remember...!

No mud at Solfest - tis all on old sand dunes!

FrannyandZooey · 18/08/2008 18:22

oh TooT lovely! bless them

I have had a bit of a crap day in that I have not looked after either ds partic well - just feeling a bit jaded and blah, so cut all corners and was grumpy
however was driven by desire to redeem myself through household jobs in last hour, so attempted to cook dinner, hang up washing etc and amaze dp
however my plan hinged on a) ds2 sitting in his chair and b) dp being home at right time to help - whoops
he came home to crying baby, washing all over floor, huge posset on sofa, mushy overcooked bulgar wheat and uncooked roasted veggies in an oven that had gone out
unimpressive

we have just had beans on toast
v nice

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 18/08/2008 18:23

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 18:35

Oh dear, Franny. Beans on toast is always good though.

Those are rather lovely children, Toot

OB sounds like a lot of fun, even if you are paying for it now.

We just had lunch - I put a lovely bowl of chickpea and spinach curry in front of DS and he peered at it, went and wailed, "but there are no capers. I wanted capers. Waaaahhhhh"

Raisins, chickpeas, peas. spinach, peppers, apple. Probably not whole portions though.

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 18:37

Do you know, they don't even have real baked beans here. I have to import them. I am going to have a go at making my own but I think they won't be the same. like when I tried to make custard creams. Much better out of a packet.

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 18:40

Blimey UR. Or should I say SB? Why have you gone all lagomorphic anyway? And did he eat it?

Oh Franny, I remember days like that. Actually I still have them but it's less extreme when they are all walking and talking.

filthymindedvixen · 18/08/2008 18:46

I'm having a day like that and I don't have a new baby as a valid reason...

ds2 is so over-tired he keeps going into very noisy and violent meltdowns. I have forgotton how to deal with him when he is like this...
He keeps losing his temper with ds1 (who is winding him up) and hitting/kicking him etc. And he screamed 'Shut Uuuuup' at me

He has been sent to his room to calm down.

TigerFeet · 18/08/2008 18:46

D'ya know, I think I might have beans on toast for tea. Much underused and underrated (sorry SB no pun intended ) meal in this house. Branston Beans much nicer than Heinz imvho. I did taste test trials for them when they first came out and they came top ever time. Franny that sort of meal disaster would have had me in floods two weeks post partum - under no circumstances would I have been able to laugh at myself on MN so well done that woman.

Gorgeous children TooT do you know them?

OB sounds messy but if you have no horrible flashbacks coming through by now then you must have escaped unscathed.

OsmosisBanana · 18/08/2008 18:47

Twas fun FMV, just hard work. Made slightly harder by having to deal with friend who was feeling ashamed this morning. I tend to do the 'are you ok' in silly cringey voice thing when I feel people are out of sorts and keep sneaking glances to check on them. It's tiring.

Saw 2 bands though which is more than I normally manage. Usually just end up in Lost Vagueness or similar type place and never leave. Saw nothing of the site though... Which was challenging this morning.

Had to walk back to my tent from truck carrying pillow and sleeping bag having no memeory of what the relationship between where my tent was and where the truck was with no contact lenses in. Had to ask stewrad where I was and where xyz field was. Must have looked like the walk of shame! Spent about an hour wandering round and around in circles I suspect only to discover truck and tent were about 50m apart. Idiot.

Will try and not move from tent at Shambala, much safer that way!

OsmosisBanana · 18/08/2008 18:49

You made custard creams UR???? Good grief. Committment to the cause.

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 18:52

Oh dear Fmv
Both of my boys are out of sorts atm and tempers are frayed.

TF - yeah, I know them

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 18:55

OB, that sounds like a nightmare!!

I had beans on toast today too. Dd1 was hankering after them and I didn't have any (nice, organic) beans so dp offered his Aldi ones. My god they are sickjly sweet - they left a most unpleasant lingering sweetness at the back of my mouth.

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 18:55

He did eat most of it but only when I put capers on it. Perhaps I should not have pandered to his demands but I am picking my battles carefully this week. Well, today. It might not last.

OB, still soundss fun but was probably less enjoyable at the time. I hate it when you spend ages looking for something and it is right next to you. I once had to call the help people to find my car at the airport car park. I still ended up wandering around aimlessly until I found it, quite by chance, right where I began And I usually have a good sense of direction

Am a bunny because this is what DS pretends to be. There is an UnderValued and it was too similar. Might change back though. I need to pick a name and stick to it. I quite fancy BeansAreUnderRated

filthymindedvixen · 18/08/2008 18:56

I like Superbunny, now I know it's you

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 18:57

Yeah, I made Custard Creams. In YellowStone National Park animal shapes. Biggest waste of time.

Yeah, I made Custard Creams. In Yellowstone National Park animal shapes. Biggest waste of time ever.

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 18:57

I have never tried capers and have no clear idea what they are.

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 18:58

Sorry you didn't know, FMF!

I have no idea why there are two sentences - I am sure I only typed it once and added ever just before I pressed post. V odd.

FrannyandZooey · 18/08/2008 18:59

TF do you know it is a MONTH now
it was really through dp coming in and being so lovely that it was not a disaster
he just said "ah well we can have those veggies tomorrow", put ds2 in the sling, gave me a hug and offered to make toast
he is diamond geezer [mockney]

I like whole earth baked beans

TigerFeet · 18/08/2008 19:01

Oh TooT I seeeeeeeee [thick]

They are gorgeous and have wonderful names

A month? Nononononono. No. It is only a couple of weeks [adamant]

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 19:02

Stop talking about beans! I am envious. We have NONE. American baked beans are made with maple syrup, brown sugar and PORK

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 19:02

Whole earth have a lot of juice. I generally buy Biona [bean ponce]

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 19:03

lol @ TF
