For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I'm hoping this willhelp in my mission for a decent hair cut for him....he is a refusnik

TooTicky · 16/08/2008 21:17

Long hair on boys is cool

TooTicky · 16/08/2008 21:18

Oh Avi, that yarn is so lovely to work with! So far, I have a back, front left and front right, and most of a sleeve

filthymindedvixen · 16/08/2008 21:19

I know, but he has very beautiful, fine features He does actually look like an attractve - rather than pretty - girl!

TooTicky · 16/08/2008 21:24

He must be very confident in himself

Right, I'm off to cut up an apple for ds1 while he listens to Slade
Then I'm off to bed.
Night all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
(some of those kisses are from ds1)

Evening,

I have happy apple news. It seems they just needed us to bugger orf for a few weeks and let them ripen up a bit. We were picking bits and bobs from the garden today and saw that apples are now red and it turns out.. sweet!

I am very pleased and now have a glut of appley things to make.

The strawberries seem to freakishly avoid being eaten by slugs too which is a big bonus.

so apples (lots) strawbs, salady stuff prob a few portions there, and yummy lasagne with courgettes and mushrooms and carrots.

Hello! hello! and welcome back to all returning veggers

And ooh Lully I think your son is delicious and just lovely.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 16/08/2008 21:32

What did DS1 say when people thought he was a girl, FMF? I like long hair on boys.

Am Glad Toot's DD1 is so happy

There is a v loud Carribean festival going on outside

ahundredtimes · 16/08/2008 21:42

Oh TooT that is such good news, about dd1. And perfect timing too. I'm pleased you HE'd for a year, she seems to be all back on track now, and ready and happy about secondary. V. v. good news. I bet you feel all warm and happy about it. I do, which is a bit odd.

Lully. Have sent on your stuff. Thank you for telling me, sorry, it is all a bit personal isn't it. but she might come up with something good? I think she'll be telling you all about this austrian clinic, but we'll see.

Pleased everyone has had a good time. Your ds sounds lovely FMV.

Also v. nice pictures Lully. I love it when people put up lots, and it's like you can see four years in fast forward. He does look like you.

ahundredtimes · 16/08/2008 22:18

Right. Lully. I have an email.

General feeling is that Lymph stuff here is about 30 years behind where it should be. That if you have primary rather than secondary Lymph there is no help on the NHS.

You possibly know all this? She's sent me loads of stuff about it. Would you rather I emailed it to you? Not sure of your address though. Let me know.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 16/08/2008 22:22

Lully, I don't want to butt in but have you talked to Anorak? She has Lymphodema but I suspect her treatment is different because if where she is.

Poor old Lully, she only asked about a moisturiser

i think you'd better use acquaceous cream, or whatever it's called and however you spell it. I see that I also don't know how to spell moisturiser.

Tatties · 16/08/2008 22:35

Hello all, just popping in before bed. Busy day, TIRED!

Franny - I also had thrush in the first weeks with ds. When you mentioned ds2 had nappy rash I wondered, as persistent nappy rash was the only symptom my ds had when we had it. If you want me to talk more about how we dealt with it I will

Lully gorgeous photos

Lullabyloo · 16/08/2008 22:47

thankyou lovely ones

Oh 100 that was a speedy response
Yes,I do know that & any practical help I can get ( bandaging etc) is done at the hospice
It's a case of 'Now never go barefoot, always wear your stockings forever & ever, sleep with bed raised, use milking boot to drain legs & watch out for infection/cellulitis.The End.Goodbye.'

It's a bit bleak.

Umm..email is tricky as it is my name & dont want to put it on here & other isn't working.Toot & Franny & Boco & others have it.
Thankyou so much

OsmosisBanana · 16/08/2008 22:59

No time, no time. Sad that FMV is on here as am going to boast shamelessly.

Am going to BD tmoz with AAA pass.... Poss chopper. No, I made the chopper up. It's Devon.

Don't expect any sense from me for some time. Toot... I will hold it down just for you.

ahundredtimes · 16/08/2008 23:05

Okay, I will ask them to send me. Mine is the same. Yes, she had exactly that, and had to go to hospice to get massages etc and generally was SHOCKED at how little help there is.

Then she went to Austria. . . .

she says she couldn't have worked out how to do it all if she hadn't been.

i will send as soon as someone sends me your email address. It might all be worth looking into.

OsmosisBanana · 16/08/2008 23:14

just read horrible family email i shouldn't have been party to on DH' part.

Feel very sad about how families end up so twisted with what they consider the best intentios. Lully, Fran and others I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

'well meaning' rellies whose ethics burn like acid through the soul when it shouldn't even scratch the surface,

My M&D, siblings etc, are so nirmal so straightforward and we have our arguments but every day I come on MN or get involved in DH@S extended family I realise exactly what I had / have and how lucky I am.

Gibberish. Just saying, peace y'all. Who need wanky family when you've got 10/10.

jokey finish but you know....

OsmosisBanana · 16/08/2008 23:15

OMG. Such poor spelling and stuff. Soz.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 17/08/2008 04:42

Banananananas (4, I think ), raisins, chickpeas, spinach, peach

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 17/08/2008 04:43

and grapes. I probably just scraped 10 portions

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2008 10:33

morning
no food yet, am working on it
had fabulous lie in, though

lots of exciting news on here
LOL at happy shopper food (UR, Happy Shopper is a crappy kind of corner shop selling junk food)

Lully sorry to hear the care you are getting is not top rate. Hope 100's friend can help.

Tatties I am wondering if I am just imagining the thrush. I mentioned it to glowy lady who felt it was likely to be that, then I googled - whoops
I have some blocked ducts today (my nemesis with bfing) so will concentrate on trying to clear those, take the biotics, and try to improve latch which I think is still poor and causing some nipple pain - then I may be able to work out whether is thrush or not
