For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I now have the orange coat. And it was reduced even further to £23. Lorks. I did find a pic of it on t'internet but it's vanished and I can't remember the magic combo of owrds I used to find it.

I was even brave enough to show DH who happened to be in the pub in town then came and examined the rest of the H Of F sale and bought me the most ludicrous item of clothing known to man. He thinks that I am 23 and a size 6 and pre baby. Ah well.

Your IL's sound like a right bunch of charmers Lully.

Tatties · 15/08/2008 13:43

Hello lovelies

Lully I use this stuff - my skin has really improved. Service is great too, my orders have always arrived the next day.

Franny of course you are doing a wonderful job, and babies do cry in the evenings. I am always amazed at the things people say about what you/baby should be doing... do they think they are helping or do they just not think at all??

TooT thinking about you and ds

Hugs to you all ((()))

OsmosisBanana · 15/08/2008 15:30

HOLY SHITTING FUSCKSTICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just rang Eon (who I swapped to through Uswitch as at the time they happened to be the cheapest in our area).

Was wondering why we hadn't had a bill yet, thought maybe they were billing us quarterly despite asking for monthly bills.

Anyhoo. Turns out they swapped us 5 months ago (my how time flies), and haven't sent us a bill since!! So, they think we use £213 fuel a month as they haven't once asked for meter readings which means I am going to get a bill for £1050 on 1st Sept.

AWESOME!!!!!! How chuffed am I???? Still at least it all goes on clubcard points

I think some shouty phone calls are in order this evening when I have actual meter readings in hand. Seeing as half our house is without electricity due to works and we haven't had the heating on...........

Bloody cheek.

Do people really have no internet these days?

DS wanted to go swimming so we went, only to find that they had changed the opening times without warning - cue major disappointment and tears. We have to go back in an hour or so when it does open. I wouldn't mind but it is decidedly chilly and it is an outdoor pool.

Sorry for DH & MIL situation, Lully. Don't know what to suggest but (hug) and OB

Go to the gym Franny!

BBBee · 15/08/2008 18:02

my jeans are tight and it makes me cross.

still only on 1 coffee a day and no alcohol for a week now.

oh franny you have just ha a baby you silly goose. Of course it isn't all back in place - i would be worried if it was. Take it as down time for yourself but no goals yet please!

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2008 18:14

Lully I think I would try eating lots of good fats eg avocado, olive oil, nuts and seeds, plus omega supplement thingy? should help your skin

am horrified at your MIL! how childish and vindictive

OP posts:
BBBee · 15/08/2008 18:15

I don't think you should go again.

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2008 18:15

oh Bee do you think?
why is it still not right though? i mean i don't get it
i am healed up and stuff

OP posts:
BBBee · 15/08/2008 18:16

lully - a hippy friend of mine once bought me this cream with sulphur in it and it was divine but cannot find it on google.

Agree with FZ - my skin has improved by increasing fatty acids.

BBBee · 15/08/2008 18:20

but no it isn't - skin is healed but body is all fragile (and you know this).

I think psychologically this is not the time for goals and back to normal. You are only a short distance away from your body doing a wonderful thing, followed by a prolonged period of stress and anxiety. Your body is making milk and healing whilst your mind is reajusting and finding it;s way in your new and wonderful world.

You need time to be yourself I agree - but not so you can go somewhere and be cross that your body can;t do what it did before. Replace it - temporarily at least.

x

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2008 18:21

oh ds2 was fine hoorah
I also did not leave ds1 for about 6 years

i had forgotten though that dp is convinced that babies need feeding all the time
I mean if they squeak he thinks they are hungry
so when I rang him from gym to check all was well he said "well yes but he is hungry"
erm no he isn't, I fed him before I went ie about 20 mins ago
"well he wants some milk anyway"
bless him
should get him and my mother on the case together
she is constantly convinced my babies are too FULL and that I shouldn't feed them so often (ie whenever they ask for it)

OP posts:
BBBee · 15/08/2008 18:21

(replace how you spend your time not your body.)

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2008 18:25

lol if only
ok bee will have a think

do you know I think ds2 may actually be HANDSOMER than ds1?
shh don't tell him

OP posts:
SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 15/08/2008 18:47

LOL @ DS2 being handsomer. Well done on the gym, Franny - I think you are being a bit hard on yourself. At 9.5 months pregnant, your body hadn't recently gone through labour and now it is busy fixing itself and making milk. Must be a bit disappointing to not be able to do as much as you hoped.

Apple, banana, peas, corn (3)

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2008 18:49

I just thought i would be fitter now
I want to feel more energetic and I WANT MORE ENDORPHINS

anyway
lettuce (2 kinds)
pea shoots [ponce]
avocado
cucumber
tomatoes
yellow pepper
carrot
kidney beans

and a satsuma

FrannyandZooey · 15/08/2008 18:51

any other takers? we haven't really got enough people interested to justify arranging an elaborate thing tbh
I think there are about 4 of us who are up for it
or maybe it is because the dates I suggested don't suit people
if anyone else is keen please email me

have emailed some blithering indecisive waffle.

where is womble? Do you think she has some really glitzy slippers with sequins on? That is how I imagine her - mopping her floor drinking champagne in glitzy slippers.

It is strange the picture you gain from internet.

BBBee · 15/08/2008 19:49

I think toot has a big pile of recycling that each time she tries to throw away one of her children makes a beautiful sculpture form it and she cannot bear to throw it away and then she does really late one night and feels bad.

womblingalong · 15/08/2008 19:50

Oh yes BBee, that's right, I lurk on here in glitzy slippers!

NOT!

I do seem to be constantly sweeping/mopping the floor tho.

Tatties · 15/08/2008 19:50

I agree with Bee and would take it easy too, Franny. It's only 4 weeks on and you have been through a lot. But great that you managed to get out and everything was ok

Day started off well with ds wearing pants and going to the toilet (this is the first full day when he decided he didn't want to wear nappy)... but less success this afternoon and I feel glum about it. He is nearly 3.5. I have been really patient so far, but I am just wondering if it actually will click one day soon without me intervening?

I am going to make a carrot cake.

BBBee · 15/08/2008 19:50

pink is sitting at her kitchen table with her running shoes on her left and an unhealthy 10/10 thing on her right - I think it is a treacle tart and she is looking at both trying to decide which way to go.

BBBee · 15/08/2008 19:51

womble - tell me about your slippers - are theyu not slippers but some glitzy pumps? You do have some don;t you. I know you do.

Tatties · 15/08/2008 19:51

LOL Bee
