For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Blythe very nice.

At the crazy huge house we stayed at the 4 boys had posh first names like Bartholemew and Fabian - then two middle names each, a local river and then things like Makepeace, Lovejoy, and the best was Constant. Never heard that as a name - I think it's quite nice.

Have inlaws staying, desperately hoping the rain holds off so we're not all milling around each other in the house which is making me a little irritable.

Glad good holidays were had toot and fk, hope good holidays are had to everyone going off.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 09/08/2008 15:16

Morning/ Afternoon

Biting teething babies are not my favourite - are you ok, Bero? DS used to bite me really hard (drawing blood sometimes) then give me the lovliest smile ever so, although I had blood streaming down me, after the initial squeal of pain, it was hard to be cross.

I like Blythe too - is it a unisex name? I know a girl named Blythe.

Happy birthday to birthday people and happy holiday to the holidaying ones.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 09/08/2008 15:19

Oh, I haven't been reporting F&V but have had at least 5 a day and usually more like 7 but will be better this week. I have borrowed lots of cook books from the library.

BBBee · 09/08/2008 16:58

FrannyandZooey · 09/08/2008 19:34

filthymindedvixen · 09/08/2008 19:42

oh sweety, I remember those baby carrying days well. DS2 would not be put down on his back for a second. I remember sobbing with relief when my mum bought me a back and shoulder massage and she took me, and held Squidge while the masseuse worked her magic....
I still have terribly well devolped biceps from 18 months of hefting him around in a sling.

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 09/08/2008 19:43

ouch. Are you carrying properly? It shouldn't hurt, should it? My sling only hurt if I did it wrong.

FrannyandZooey · 09/08/2008 19:53

oh i think just effect of going from spd = lots of rest, to walking lots and carrying 11 lb baby
it's tired well-used muscle aches not bad hurting something gone wrong pains

berolina · 09/08/2008 19:53

hello all.

Yes, I am OK, although ds2 is not happy and the biting is rather wearing. I have a fetching mark on my shoulder - have managed to pull him off quickly enough to avoid serious nork damage so far. He is hot again so we gave him another tiny bit of Calpol, which he has decided he likes .

Came back from hairdresser with a rather nice, neat, short 1920sish bob, which I think I like. Bil-Mil said it made me look at least 10 years younger, which was nice, but actually I am not sure I want to look 21. At my request the hairdresser cut it a bit shorter than she otherwise would have done so i don't have to get it trimmed for a while. It really is very short. Odd washing and combing it, and odd putting my hands up to pull my hair out of the jumper I've just put on and finding no hair there.

Had a pins-and-needles tingling in my hand while undressing ds2 and immediately thought of MS, which thought I followed by googling, which is unlike me, because I do not have hypochondriac tendencies at all.

littlerach · 09/08/2008 19:56

Sounds nice, Bero, the hair cut.

Dh commented last night that min elooked as htough I'd been out in the rain

Crap weather so not managed much for dd2's bday.

She is tryinh to sleep in her tent

womblingalong · 09/08/2008 20:13

Hello eveyone,

Thaks for all bithday wisehs, felt a bit funny last night, and not at all birthdayish, sipping champagne whilst mopping the floor at midnight!

Sorry about being a thread terrorist last night, DS has an ear infection and has been waking up every 15 mins to half an hour through most of the night, I haven't been able to muster the energy to post coherently fr a while.

Franny, is DP good at massages? I used to be crying out for a massage, and always be disappointed at DH's efforts!

Bero, hair sounds good to me, I keep thinking that a haircut would be practical for me, but just can't quite bring myself to do it.

Happy bithday smallest rach, hope you had a lovely day.

TooTicky · 09/08/2008 20:14

Bero, we need to see a pic of your hair
Hope the biting phase is short - they generally are, I think.

Fete was good, ds2 got second prize (£10) and ds1 got third prize (£5). It was wet though and they shivered heartily in the parade.
When dd2 realised she hadn't won a prize she set up a wail and ds2 gave her his lollipop She ended up eating three lollipops in quick succession

FK, glad your holiday was good.

TooTicky · 09/08/2008 20:15

Hello Wombling

littlerach · 09/08/2008 20:19

Ooh, yes, a pic

Well done TooTicky children.

berolina · 09/08/2008 20:24

Shall get dh or Bil-Mil to take one tomorrow. Have washed it now so it is rather damp and straggly.

Well done to the little TooTs

womblingalong · 09/08/2008 20:34

Hello TooT,

Well done to TooTlets!

Oh yes Bero, a pic would be fab

SuperBunnyisUnderRated · 09/08/2008 20:37

Good Franny, didn't mean to sound patronising

Exciting about new hair, Bero. I'd like to have mine shorter but my curls don't like it and I look like a wild woman (more than I usually do) Do you really think you have MS? I thought I did once as there was no accounting for my symptoms and I was really quite ill which is not like me (dizzy, nauseous, completely exhausted to the point of crawling through the front door and straight to bed at 3pm. Turns out I was pg.

Day sounds lovely, Toot

filthymindedvixen · 09/08/2008 20:54

ah poor dd TooT...well done you creative genuius!

Mu neighbour and best mate is moving in for a week while we are away as she is hving work done and house is uninhabitable with 2 little ones. Was spur of moment plan so I have had the mother of all days tring to pack and keep house presentable and write loads of instructions about sticky drawers etc.

But it does mean the cat will have company

berolina · 09/08/2008 20:58

I don't think so, UR, although I have also been slightly and momentarily dizzy a fair bit lately. I was just rather taken aback by my very-unlike-me rush-off-to-google-the-worst reaction. i usually take my good health rather too much for granted, which isn't ideal either.

I am certainly not pg, immaculate conceptions aside [tmi]

BBBee · 10/08/2008 08:58

well done tootie and little toots.

Bero - I was told by my friend who is a GP that my pins and needles and loss of sensation in my fingers and toes was most likely to be anxiety - she was right. Quite common too (as in happens a lot not she was quite common IYSWIM)

I like Blythe - agree it goes nicely with other name.

We did camping in the rain - i am not a good camper in lots of ways so am rather prod and gave myself a badge. I swam in the sea too which I see as an adventure.

What is a thread terrorist? Am I one?

Womble - oh darling womble - sorry you felt a bit flat on your bday - that happens sometimes and is rather depressing I find.

okay - duty calls.

TooTicky · 10/08/2008 09:27

Costume pics on my profile
As you will see, dp has arsed about with embellished the photos slightly.

Oh hello Bee Camping in the rain sounds, erm, brave.

womblingalong · 10/08/2008 10:17

Ohh BBee, you are so sweet.

I don't think you are a thread terrorist, I think you are much more like a lovely big sis or fairy godmother who drops in all perfumed and pretty, dispensing kisses, presents and general good cheer!

I on the other hand, tend to post and run!

womblingalong · 10/08/2008 10:21

TooT, Lovely pics, too, they look fab.

BBee, well done on the camping, I am the worlds most reluctant camper, I am trying to psych myself up into going DH loves it, and takes DD off at least once a year. I want to go so I don't miss out on the fun, but don't like no toilets and bathrooms close by. I am a wuss, it is official.
