Hypothyroid people - how to get a balance between TSH and T4.

Just got my latest bloods done. TSH is 2.93 and T4 is 23. I think the TSH is too high for me - I'd like to ttc later this year and when I conceived my DD I was told my TSH should be closer to 1. But my specialist at UCH doesn't want to put my meds up (I'm on alternate days of 1.25 and 1.5) because he thinks T4 is already high.

Anyone had this experience, or anyone with any suggestions?

thank you jesuswhatnext and HonoriaGlossop.

HonoriaGlossop I would certainly be interested as you can never stop learning about the thyroid. it will be interesting with what they come up with and the diagnosis, if you can get a copy of the results (and therefore what tests were done) it would help to plan what next to do if nothing happens of their own volition

Got my blood test result this am, it has gone down to 2.3 which is a good reduction...but I think I still want to ask Dr to raise Thyroxine dose one more time, this would be to 1.75mcg I guess as am currently on 1.5. I just don't feel quite myself; I do have good days but I have many days when I feel muzzy headed, utterly draggingly exhausted etc. And the weight is a concern; put it on SO frighteningly easily.....

Is misi or anyone out there to give me your thoughts? Dr was supportive last time but feel I ought to go 'prepared' with something to say IYKWIM.....

thanks.
