Bruise or Birthmark?

Hello Everybody,
This is my first time on this forum...so a big Hi to all...

My 16 month old daughter has a pale brown mark on her forehead - we thought it was a bruise that just wasn't fading but now I am starting to think it could be a birthmark. It has been noticeable for about 5 months now.

I know I should see a doctor if I think it is a bruise - its just that all her other bruises fade normally and it isn't painful to the touch - it is just as I said, a pale, brown mark. But she did bump her head there when her big brother tripped her up one day......

I would be interested to hear any opinions on this...in the meantime I have made an appointment with my local doctor...

DD had a pale brown birth mark appear when she was 10 months old. It is about two inches in diameter and on the back of her thigh.

The GP said it could be a fungal infection or a birthmark and prescribed anti-fungal cream. She said, "if it's still there after treating for two weeks then it's a birthmark". 16 months later, it's still there.
