Really bad nappy rash

My Ds is 26 months and has the worst nappy rash I have seen on him. Think the back molars coming through are the cause however I just wanted to check and see if anyone else has had this problem. Is it worth going to the doctors? I have been letting him run around without a nappy on as much as possible and putting metanium? on it at night.

I went to the docs when mine were little with bad nappy rash and they prescribed some lovely yellowy sticky natural stuff but its name escapes me now. IT came in a tube... It did the job though, all clear after a few days.

My DD had really bad nappy rash that wouldn't clear up. Turned out to be thrush.

Thrush? Think I will definintely phone the doctors tomorrow then just to get him checked over.
