flashing lights in eyes or something like....help someone please :(:(

This is the 3rd time ive had it, the first being about 3 months ago the last 2 being just now and 2 days ago.

It starts like i have just looked at the sun and have the light ball in my eye, but rather than going it turns into a circle of what i can only describe as gas affect in the center of my eye which gradually takes over my whole eye until i cannot see anything other than this 'gas'. It was on my left eye the first two times but tonight its been on my right.

Has anyone ever had anything similar??

I am nearly 37 weeks pregnant but doubt this is anything to do with it. Just thought i would mention just incase.

DEfinitley get it checked out

it's a common symptom of pre-eclampsia

as are headaches

I got pre eclampsia at 36 weeks, headache, dizziness and nausea. I'd only been to the doctors a week before and all my samples were fine then too. I think it would be best to speak to an on call mw as a matter of urgency, and see what they advise. It could all be nothing, but don't risk it.

sorry forgot to add, the blurred vision lasts about 5 minutes then goes then i start to get the headache, i have no dizziness or nausea with it. I will try and phone the labour ward and see what they suggest. Thanks all for your help xx

Hi sorry i haven't replied sooner. I saw midwife today and she has said that if it happens again then to phone triage (sp?) to get checked over as it could be rising blood pressure. All checks today were great though, everything as it should be so thats a relief

I can now look forward to my scan on friday woohooooooo
