am a reg have changed for obv reasons.

2 things:-

  1. had sex yesterday, condom came off - couldn't find it, not on bed/OH/anywhere, went to inspect in the loo I found nothing - what's the chances of it being so high up I couldn't feel it? also peeing is fine today so would I feel if it was up there?

  2. whilst ahem, feeling around in there, I could feel some what can only be described as sacks, or cysts - basically lumps of flesh which felt a little like buttons, inside & up. tried to pull a little (wondered what they were) didn't hurt but are obviously attached.

did wonder if it was as i'd had sex - but they were there this am as well. so any thoughts on what they are? they don't hurt at all. sex doesn't hurt. always have protected sex. (apart from once at the start of the year)

am going to try and go to the clinic this week, but really am worried about what I may have caught (if anything)

also not sure if it's relevant or not, but every month around AF time I have a small lump (pea sized) under the skin on the outside (as in the front) gets a bit red, then goes back down again - feels almost like a vein or something.

Any thoughts?

am worried about the risk of PG if i'm brutally honest - but as I say when I took it last time, I took it within 12 hours and it still failed. was very sick with it as well.

sidge - i'm concerned re warts/genital herpes is it? the front thing no it doesn't hurt at all - well does it I press it - but really shouldn't press it - so I now have the matter of MAP and these lump things.

Warts are usually on the outside, but occasionally can be seen on the inside. If you always use a condom it's unlikely that you will have warts inside the vagina. Blisters are usually herpes but I think you would know about that - it's incredibly painful!!

Glad you got Johnny out

S1ur · 21/07/2008 00:30

Right go to pharmacy for MAP and go to docs about other stuff asap (as conveiniant)

well done for squatting! I gave birth like that, reckon anything can fall out when in that position now

mymama · 21/07/2008 00:31

My mil has warts inside her vagina. Don't understand fully what it is as she doesn't ask Doctor enough questions. She does have to be examined every 6 months and have biopsies as I think it is a precursor to cancer type symptom.

Sorry if that scares you but it is definitely worth having checked out.

girlnextdoor · 21/07/2008 07:31

What you are feeling could be "normal"- the vagina is made up of folds of muscle/skin, so it may just be "you"- but get it checked.

Aren't you being a bit negative re. the MAP? FGS - what is worse- trying it again and it may not fail this time- there may have been a reason for that before- or having another DC? Get tot he chemists NOW!

whatcanitbe · 21/07/2008 08:10

can you get it over the counter at the local Lloyds one or do you have to have a drs apt? (going to the chemist is easier for me to get to esp with ds)

have worked out I am approx day 18 of a 28 day cycle. I usually (used to when was checking) OV around day 12-14. spoke to OH this am and he's 'confident nothing passed' form him to me. but he'll support whatever choice I make about taking it.

am just worried as on Thurs my nan had a chat with me that went something along the lines of...

I hope you're being safe and on the pill as we don't want to have another little one. - is playing on my mind a bit.

MAP it is I think - will have to suck it up. re the other thing, I know it may well be just me but my minds been racing - from warts to possible cancer, (we have ovarian cancer in the family) will book an apt as well for Thursday I think and get that half sorted - at the very least i'll be happy getting a full check over for STI's - as I we are careful, but you never know.

OP posts:
girlnextdoor · 21/07/2008 08:15

you can buy it OTC at any pharmacy- get there quickly! It needs to be taken within 72 hours.

girlnextdoor · 21/07/2008 08:20

p.s.

Your OH cannot "be sure nothing passed" as sperm are often released before full ejaculation ( sorry to be technical) and if the condom came off, then there may have been some sperm inside you - he wouldn't know.

I wouldn't bank on the "safe period" either- my DD was conceived unexpectedly roughly around day 8/9 of a "normal" 30 day cycle for me, so never take any notice of dates!

and I am sure you don't have cancer- lumpy bits in the vagina are not a sign of ovarian cancer- that begins on the ovary and doesn't spread until it is very advanced.

Good luck!

whatcanitbe · 21/07/2008 08:24

I can't afford to buy it family planning clinic it is then for me I think this am - will get ourselves sorted & there for 9am.

I know I really have to take it - is it the same as it was 10 years ago? (when i last took it) am just getting such a sense of de ja vu - last time went to the same clinic, same thing happened but he did fully come.

I did say he wouldn't know for sure - esp as the condoms been up there could something if anything have come out from inside there? is there less likely anything that did go in would come back out? (sorry so many questions, but am just so scared - a stupid situation to have put myself in.).

hi. glad you found the rubber!!

if you don't want to risk the MAP, you can get an IUD or coil fitted upto 5 days after....won't help with protection of sti's obviously, but can stop a fertilised egg embedding.... it may be an option for you.
hth.

girlnextdoor · 21/07/2008 08:58

hope you are on your way out now- but yes, I suppose anything in could come out and be a risk....

not worth messing about tbh- just take the MAP-

if you can't take the pill or anything, maybe it would be an idea to have a MAP in the house, just in case of an emergency like this? I think they cost around £25? Cheaper than a baby!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 21/07/2008 09:35

Yay! Glad you found it!

candyfluff · 21/07/2008 10:42

glad you found it my friends sister had a tampon stuck up inside her for a few weeks and the smell was so bad ,she went to gp who used long tong like things to pull it out and she nearly passed out gross!!!!!!!!!

girlnextdoor · 21/07/2008 12:35

Have you been to the FPA and how are you?

whatcanitbe · 21/07/2008 13:00

hi, am back, only just got in, went to the office, got the pill - it's only one these days (my last try with it was some 10 years ago) anyhow, haven't felt sick really. (did a bit this am but think was more nerves tbh)

have taken it as soon as I got out, and the dr gave me another one 'in case of another emergancy' so I can take it straight away. so am very relieved to have taken it.

she said there's a 70-80% chance of it working, but as I was at the second half of my cycle it's a low risk anyhow - either way i'm not hoping & praying that between next weds and next sat AF shows up as that's roughly when it's due. (I think!) working on the fact I def had AF 2 Saturdays ago, (but can't recall how long I had been on by then iycwim).

also, she said chlamydia would take 2 weeks to show up - i'm not worried per se about that but obviously if I have a full STI/smear/inspection by a dr I only want to go the once so think i'll give it the 2 weeks and then see the dr about my other prob in the gm clinic.

in the short term panic is over, fingers crossed for the long term now. Thanks so much guys for being here the last 12 hours - have told no one in RL apart from OH - who's still saying i've done the right thing but he's fine with what ever the outcome is going to be.

from my POV however I do not want to be on my own with 2 LO's.

Thanks for posting back- hope it all goes well and everything is fine

whatcanitbe · 24/07/2008 23:30

ok so I know this is stupid, but my boobs are really really tender and sore - this is a symptom of the MAP right? is er what 6 days? 5 days?

it's impossible isn't it?? have mega PMT going on as well - but then again I have SEVERE PMT when PG.
