Sounds like an aniti biotic job to me.

Given his back ground Misdee, it's worth just staying on top of this stuff, IMO.

misdee · 19/07/2008 10:28

exactly.

it doesnt look to me like a normal ulcer.

Yes, sounds like he needs AB's.

Wolfgirl · 19/07/2008 10:33

Can you explain how upsetting it is for you, and (possibly) scarry? I think you have been through enough lately and don't need any more stress, eh!

hugs anyway

misdee · 19/07/2008 12:50

he is at out of hours now.

belgo · 19/07/2008 12:51

glad that he's seeing a doctor.

misdee · 19/07/2008 12:55

its infected and possibly spreading. GP has put him on anti biotics.

Good that you got him to go!

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 19/07/2008 12:56

Men !! They think they are indestuctible.

KatyMac · 19/07/2008 12:57

He needs A-B's imo

I often get ulcers which need A-B's and my immune system is supposedly fine

misdee · 19/07/2008 13:44

he has been given augmentin.

OP posts:
KatyMac · 19/07/2008 16:32

Tell him to monitor his lymph glands - I often get a secondary infection - esp if there is a delay in getting a-b's

misdee · 19/07/2008 16:33

ok.

his lip is very swollen tbh, am a bit concerned and will keep a close eye on it.

tea tree misdee! It has got me out of a lot of trouble over the years.I have had those huge lip ulcers too look and feel awful. How is he oherwise?Hop ethings are well xx

KatyMac · 20/07/2008 10:04

How is he today?

MummyDoIt · 20/07/2008 10:10

Men! Why are they so pig-headed? I could tell you a very long saga involving DH, a railway sleeper dropped on his foot and an infection that almost had him hospitalised through his stubbornness in not getting it checked out. Glad Peter went in the end and hope it's nothing too serious.

misdee · 20/07/2008 10:37

he says its got bigger overnight but GP said that may happen to start wih. hopefully it will start to go down soon.

what do i do with the teatree noddy?

OP posts:
noddyholder · 20/07/2008 11:28

it is a natural antiseptic and antibiotic. If you put a drop on a cotton bud and touch the ulcer am and pm it should go.I also have found that I have far fewer infections if i put a couple of drops in my bath every night.\\hth

Dottydot · 20/07/2008 11:40

Yes, both dp and her Dad swear by Teatree and dab it on all cuts, grazes, ulcers etc.
