For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

I just thought, if Idris can remember so much about other posters, do the Lurkers remember all this too?

OsmosisBanana · 21/07/2008 18:27

YAYAYAYAYAAY! I have a guest pass to Beautiful Days! I shall have to amuse myself whilst BF shags chap from band who got us the passes but I'm sure I'll cope.

Even better, she could only get one, so I can't take DD or DH!!!!! A night away from home with no baby / husband. It's a first. We are going to go on Sunday am and come back on Monday. Plenty of fun to be had in one day and the fallout afterwards won't be so bad. Won't have to take so much crap for camping either.

Then Shambala the week after. Whoop whoop!

TooTicky · 21/07/2008 18:31

ds1 is a very odd nice boy

UnderRated · 21/07/2008 18:37

OB

Odd indeed, 'Toot', but very nice, I'm sure

IdrisTheDragon · 21/07/2008 18:40

I know just where you mean UR . DH and I lived just up the hill from Hertford when we first got married.

OsmosisBanana · 21/07/2008 18:42

All a bit flukey really. The festival we were going to (the only one this year) got made over 18s onll so took tickets back... Now I have 2!

IN fairness, it's been a pretty ropey couple of weeks, so I've earned them!

UnderRated · 21/07/2008 19:06

I once had a job that required me to drive to all the farms in Hertfordshire so I know the area quite well. I found a very rare type of beetle [strangely proud]

FrayedKnot · 21/07/2008 19:26

Oh poor old F and L

God I do hope she is getting support with the feeding. The hospital I had DS in has a brilliant BF lady but not many people know about her.

You have to really bang on about things to get help but then when you are worried and tired and what-have-you it's not easy.

Boco did you see Elbow? I rather like them and was rather when I saw they were playing.

I am definitely going to try & get there next year.

TigerFeet · 21/07/2008 19:27

I was in Cheshunt - Te$co head office

There were roadworks on the A10

And I got a bit lost in Stevenage

I have seen a bit more of Hertfordshire today than I originally anticipated

filthymindedvixen · 21/07/2008 19:38

OB though why you don't go for longer, I do not know. BD is fab!

OsmosisBanana · 21/07/2008 19:41

Not very fair on DH.

And I'll get trashed.

And I am going to be unemployed for 3 years and can't justify the amount of money I'll spend if I go for longer.

Might leave Bristol exceptionally early on Sunday am though. You could call it Saturday night even

Boco · 21/07/2008 19:45

FK yes, did see Elbow, don't really know them but sounded good, missed half of it for someone else but can't remember who - maybe Martha Wainwright. Julian Cope was bonkers, he was really late on, and then sang a couple of songs then ranted and swore for the rest of it. He kept calling everyone motherfuckers, and dd was on someones shoulders and kept saying 'what does he mean?'

Was fun working, didn't think it would be but it was very relaxed just making things with cute children, lying on a big rug and doing sticking, quite nice and met lots of nice people. I think I did sticking with Mrs Doyle from father Ted, but wasn't completely convinced, the others were sure.

Guadalupe · 21/07/2008 19:51

the bf person never turned up but now Franny has got a lll leader coming to see her so that's something.

I haven't heard of Elbow. I am behind the times. I would like to go to Beautiful dyas though. We nearly bought tickets as it's on when we leave our cottage in cornwall. I thought we could stop there on the way home but decided I wasn't up for it with ds2. We are going to the farm place instead.

TooTicky · 21/07/2008 19:56

What the hell is a lumbar puncture? It sounds horrific

I see some loonies were posting under my name earlier

TooTicky · 21/07/2008 19:57

Good news about the LLL person at least.

filthymindedvixen · 21/07/2008 19:58

lumbar puncture is where they inject into base of spine to take fluid to test for bacteria (like meningitis) ds had one when he was 4. It was grim

TooTicky · 21/07/2008 20:01
Sad
filthymindedvixen · 21/07/2008 20:06

ds is completely phobic about needles now...and it was 6 years ago. And at the time, I thought he was too out of it to really know what was happening. When he was diagnosed with dyslexia, he got really hysterically upset and it turned out he thought it meant he would have to go to hospital and be injected again.

Guadalupe · 21/07/2008 20:41

They are horrible apparently. Very painful.

MamaG · 21/07/2008 21:02

These 10/10 threads are bonkers

Takes me an age to keep up (and I still lag behind like the new girl at school)

Big post about festivals/useless men/smell DC and then underneath

Because we are all so utterly lovely, glowy & alluring

ahundredtimes · 21/07/2008 21:13

I want more concrete news. Why does he have to have a lumber puncture? Why do they think he has an infection? Does he in fact have an infection? What sort? Is this what ABs are for? What's wrong with him?

[bows]

Boco - oh god it sounds nice. Do you know I have never NOT ONCE been to a festival. Why is that? I don't know what I've been doing. Everyone used to go to Glastonbury, and I never went. I'm quite cross about it. I read lovely things about Latitude. Am I the only person who has never been to a festival?

LullyOfShallot · 21/07/2008 21:15

No
I havn't either
But I really want to now

MamaG · 21/07/2008 21:15

That'll be it lully

100x me too! Bizarre as I'm a music lover and always MEAN to go, but never do. I always feel really sulky when I read/hear of others going

ahundredtimes · 21/07/2008 21:18

I think I wouldn't know what to do. Everyone I knew who went to Glastonbury way back, like when we were 16 were really druggy, and that scared me so I never went.

I seem to have totally missed out on it.

Now I worry that I'd go and not know what to do, and I'd look all uncomfortable and not like a festival person. I might need to go with FMV and she could be nice to me and show me what to do.

It's a worry frankly.

Like, I REALLY want to ask Boco - did your children go to sleep or do they just stay up as late as you do?
