Any ideas / products for MrLulu to stop him getting an ear infection on holiday?

He got the most horrific ear infection last year. massive ABs, painkillers, agony.. doc was in two minds about whether to send him to hospital, said it was the worst infection she had ever seen. DH does not want to miss out on swimming with the DCs, so what can he do to keep water out of his ears?

That was my DH

lulumama, my sister used to get ear infections from swimming. She had grommets or something, etc etc.

But what we ended up with, was a mix of isopropyl alcohol and vinegar to drop into the ears after swimming, to dry it all up.

Thinking about it, that doesn't make any sense at all, does it?

Hmmm, I see some references to it online.

I can't imagine it does any harm. Smells foul.

Using ear plugs while swimming with kids would suck ...

lulumama · 15/07/2008 20:09

thank you NQC. i shall have a look at that
i hope it is not another link to a pic of coco's husband !

Using earplugs while MNing would rock...

I think one pic of coco's husband is enough for anyone.

I know isopropyl alcohol is a PITA to get in this country (or it used to be - on the grounds that you would all just drink it? ), but it's easy to get in France etc etc.
