medised post immunisation with ds 4 months, i had no calpol now iam worried was it ok to giv it too him? website say from 2 years old@! leaflet says 3 months??

leaflet on box says from 3 months and its helped settle him no end, he has been very upset after 3rd set of injections today, was just browsing on the internet and the medised website says its from 2 years old!@!@!@!@

how old is the box? it has changed to 2 yrs now.

The guidelines changed in April this year... I wouldn't worry too much - the ingredients are exactly the same so if he's had it before, it should be fine. I believe there were some issues in the US with overdosing (i.e parents giving another medicine containing anti histamine or paracetamol at the same time). As long as it was a normal dose, I wouldn't panic

i bought some the other day which still says 3 months, boots man explained someone had overdosed their child (prob cos it makes them sleep) so the rest of us cant be trusted any more. am sure he will be fine.

The recommendations have changed recently - they used to say it was ok from 3 months but it is now not recommended under 2 years.

When the recommendatiosn were different, I used to give it to my daughter (who is now 2.10) when she was a baby, with no ill effects. As far as I know, the formula hasn't changed, just the advice.

I really wouldn't worry about having given it to him this time, but next time use Calpol.

they updated it because apparently people cannot be trusted to read and follow instructions so we all have to be herded like sheep.

Please don't worry. It's the overdose issue as others have said.

How is he now? I hate injections, you can stick as many needles as you like in me, but I go a bit primal when it's dd.
